Indymedia.org on top of it for NOLA news coverage

A friend who grew up in NOLA has family members that survived Katrina. They also experienced being held at gun point at the Hyatt and were shuttled around to wherever - at gun point. After my friend told me this I went to indymedia.org to see what was posted and found stories that sounded similar to what I heard and I told her about what I found. She had never heard of indymedia.org and checked it over the weekend and said that indymedia was right on the money. Afterward she got in touch with family members still in Louisiana and told them about the site. They too agreed that indymedia had it right. So check it out folks and three cheers for indymedia!
