New AP-Ipsos Poll: WEIRDLY WRITTEN AP ARTICLE
Check out this article on the new AP-Ipsos poll out. It's bad for Chimpy, but they don't actually give the approval/disapproval data. The say his disapproval is "nearly 6 in 10" and the don't mention his approval. WTF?

In any event, this is more bad news for Chimpy as this is yet another post speech poll that shows things have worsened for him.

Katrina Raises Voters' Doubts About Bush

"An AP-Ipsos poll says nearly six in 10 people disapprove of Bush's job performance, unchanged from the record-low rating he had before last week's televised address from the heart of New Orleans.

That underscores why GOP leaders fear Bush could be a drag on GOP candidates in 2006."

--snip--

"Given a choice in the survey, 42 percent favored cutting spending on Iraq to pay for relief efforts on the Gulf Coast, and 29 percent wanted to delay or cancel Republican tax cuts. That's a whopping 71 percent backing options that Bush doesn't even have on the table."

--snip--

"A variety of polls suggest voters expected the president to act more quickly in the aftermath of Katrina. He's no longer considered a strong, decisive leader by many voters, a reversal from the 2004 presidential campaign when the wartime incumbent successfully cast himself in those terms."

2. what's always hidden in these simple "approval/disapproval" polls
...is the degree we disapprove of the shrub. If they took a pulse of how much the people who "disapprove" of him actually despise him, I think they'd find how vast and powerful this putative 60% (more like 70% ) actually is.

3. True, There Was A Poll Out Last Week, I Forgot Which One
In which those that strongly dissaproved actually outnumbered his ENTIRE approval number! It may have been the ARG poll where his strongly dissaprove was like 40% and his approval was only 35 or 36.

7. Actually, I Saw That It's 40%
Interestingly enough he improved his numbers slightly, though it's statistically insignificant. He's at 57% DA and 40%app. BTW, his STRONG disapproval is 38%!!! Only 2 points lower than his ENTIRE approval. Last poll his strong DA was HIGHER than his entire approval!
