Also, should someone in such "prime physical condition" be sweating that much just walking around?

49. I"m not questioning the need to have a plant there. I'm questioning Bush*
touring it, when there are about a billion other places more relevant to the disaster and the response.

It says, to me, that there aren't a lot of enclosed places that his watchers can fully guard to keep the real people away from the boy in the bubble.

does about Texas, the TX heat, blah, blah, that he really spends that much time outdoors in it and I don't think that he's used to humidity.

Wonder how he'd like to spend 5 days on top of a roof with the temps. in the upper 90s and the humidity at 90+%, with no water? Or maybe 3 days on a roof and 2 days and nights on the frick'in hot, hard concrete?!

32. Maybe he's not used to the humidity. But still, that's a lot of sweat.
It can be really humid in NOLA but it's not as hot as it is in the middle of the summer. Something is wrong with him that they can't control or hide.

(Mr. CB is from NOLA, I'm from the South too and we live in GA. Believe me, we know all about humidity and sweating and doing manual labor outdoors.)

48. Hyperhidrosis (aka diaphoresis)
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/007259.htm

According to Medline Encyclopedia:

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition in which a person sweats excessively and unpredictably. People with hyperhidrosis can sweat even when the temperature is cool, and when they are at rest.

Sweating helps the body stay cool. In most cases, it is perfectly natural. People sweat more in warm temperatures, when they exercise, or in response to situations that make them nervous, angry, embarrassed, or afraid. However, excessive sweating occurs without such triggers. Those with hyperhidrosis appear to have overactive sweat glands. The uncontrollable sweating can lead to significant discomfort, both physical and emotional.

When excessive sweating affects the hands, feet, and armpits, it's called primary or focal hyperhidrosis. Primary hyperhidrosis affects 2%-3% of the population, yet less than 40% of patients with this condition seek medical advice. In the majority of primary hyperhidrosis cases, no cause can be found. It seems to run in families.

If the sweating occurs as a result of another medical condition, it is called secondary hyperhidrosis. The sweating may be all over the body, or it may be localized to one area. Conditions that cause second hyperhidrosis include:

* acromegaly
* hyperthyroidism
* glucose control disorders
* pheochromocytoma
* carcinoid syndrome
* cancer
* tuberculosis or other infections
* menopause
* spinal cord injury
* stroke
* Parkinson’s disease
* heart or lung disease
* certain medications and substances of abuse
* anxiety conditions
