Laura Bush was a former inner-city school teacher?
I thought she was a librarian from Midland, Texas. Anyone ever hear this before?

WASHINGTON - Laura Bush, former inner-city teacher, says Hurricane Katrina could have a silver lining if it forces the nation to respond "in a different way" to difficult poverty and racial problems.

"A large percentage of our population probably doesn't realize what inner cities are really like and has looked away from that," Bush told The Associated Press in an interview Tuesday.

13. Laura's educational bio changes as the BFEE needs change.
The BFEE/Rove machine needs a photo-op or proof for the Public that they really are just like WE THE PEOPLE and they understand.....whatever particular group of people they need for that day......your problems.

Teacher/Librarian........for all of 6-7 years? The BFEE and their faithful lemming followers tout that Laura understands the educational problems.....hell she was just beginning to get her feet wet as an elementary teacher. Her first year was spent as a student/teacher so that doesn't count. She boasts or rather her BFEE boasts of her love of books yet she has never, ever quoted or refered to any of her readings? The only book she has ever mentioned is Goodnight Moon and the Hungry Caterpillar......tiny childrens books.

24. I think you nailed that right on the head...they are trying to prove they
can relate to us regular people which, of course, we all know they can't.

and not a teacher. Don't recall reading that she taught in DFW or Houston schools.

Library Science. She then was a libarian till she married George - some time in her mid 20s. I think she only worked about 3 -4 years all together, which the White House inflates enormously.

Pickles probably never seen a black or hispanic person that wasn't mopping her floor. And being a library for few years in a Dallas prep school don't count, wanker. Bitch, give me a break!!

8. She taught school in Dallas and Houston. She was never a librarian in Midl
Midland. After teaching for a few years, she became a librarian in Houston, then in Austin at an elementary school. I don't know which ones were inner-city, or how inner city they were.

16. Yeah
Just because she taught in Dallas doesn't mean she taught in an inner city school. There are some nice neighborhoods there, and then some where there are duck and cover drills in case the cops decide to go after the crack house across the street. Somehow I don't think she taught in one of those kinds of schools.

They probably asked W where she used to teach and since he couldn't remember where she had lived he said "In her city."

23. I think she is mixed up about who looked away from the inner cities....
this woman makes my blood boil with her worthless observations. What does she know about inner cities when she spent her life living in the suburbs and is now isolated in the WHITE House. Can you believe she says Katrina could have a silver lining. The only silver lining is to Halliburton and the other corporations that will make a bundle off this disaster.
