DFA Grassroots candidates introducing themselves at the blog.

http://www.blogforamerica.com/

The final round of voting for the Grassroots All-Star challenge began this morning. Democracy for America has asked all ten finalists to introduce themselves to the DFA community.

Read all about them and see their pictures, then vote in IRV style at the Grassroots DFA list.

http://tools.democracyforamerica.com/housevote/

This week, Democracy for America is hosting an online instant run-off vote to determine which Congressional candidate will receive our first DFA-List endorsement of 2006. Last week, we held the first round of voting, narrowing the field of 60 Congressional candidates down to 10. All these candidates are running as challengers to Republican incumbents or for open seats in red districts. This week, we are holding an Instant Run-off Vote to determine the winner.

Results are updated hourly and can be seen at BlogForAmerica.com. Voting closes on Saturday, September 24 at 5:00 pm Eastern Time.

This is an Instant Run-off Voting Ballot. You may vote for up to three candidates. You may finish voting after making your first choice.

Francine Busby (CA-50)
Joe Courtney (CT-02)
Christine Cegelis (IL-06)
Bruce Braley (IA-01)
David Loebsack (IA-02)
Paul Hodes (NH-02)
Lois Murphy (PA-06)
Patrick Murphy (PA-08)
John Courage (TX-21)
Bryan Kennedy (WI-05)

1. If you don't have a candidate, please vote for Christine Cegelis.
Christine is running against Henry Hyde and got more than 40% of the vote with an underfunded (and unsupported by the party) campaign last year. She's a real progressive and a real person. A single mom who's had to keep her day job because she can't afford to run full time. If Ruben Zamora had made the cut I'd be recommending him too. If she's not a DUer, it's an oversight, because she'd love it.

2. I did.
I voted for her, for the guy from TX that Morrison sent me an email about, and the one who is going up against Sensenbrenner.

Hubby is going to vote as well, but I guess we have to have another email address to do it. We have always used the same one for all DFA stuff, but I guess they are being very careful as well.
