I keep seeing this in BartCop, and keep wondering why it's of no interest.

(At least, I don't ever see it being discussed outside of BartCop)

Today's oil theft total

Iraq pumps 2,000,000 barrels a day,
(and that was before the 2002 Halliburton Upgrade)
times today's oil price which is $66.23 a barrel
makes $132,460,000 Bush stole just yesterday

Is BC full of shit? Or is this simply not a concern?

What does he seem to be pissing in the wind?

2. Hell, I'd settle for a little
Chinaco.

Still, why isn't anyone else asking where the money's going?

3. I'm constantly in awe of how people just don't get upset
about this kind of rape. We've all seen thousands of idiots screaming and distraught about the most amazingly trivial crap. Yet the ginormous sums of money, vastly increased quality of life, and the peace of not ruining the future for all that is is being taken from them like candy from a baby elicits not a whimper...

4. BartCop is right on!
Where is the frickin' money? I too am blown away by the right wing zombies that focus solely on the stereotypes of welfare queens and the poor when the rich are stealing trillions. It is totally mind blowing and a good shot of 100% blue agave Chinaco helps me from bitch slapping quite a few wing nut idiots.

5. I hadn't seen this!!!
Holy shit!!! I thought all the oil wells in Iraq were shut down due to "insurgents" bombing them!

NOW I'M REALLY PISSED!!! We're paying BILLIONS of OUR TAX DOLLARS to support this war, and Halliburton's "reconstruction" of Iraq, and now there's $48Billion,350Million dollars a year that is going missing from the oil sales from Iraq?????

ONLY in a republican ruled world would this happen. Republicans are a jinx, I tell ya! Even ONE of those snakes gets power, and you just have to start looking around every corner to find out where they're stealing something else. And we've got a whole government taken over by the devils!!

:kick::kick::kick:

6. Another interesting point here ....

I transcribed this from C-SPAN 1 yesterday. It was a hearing on oil prices. Original thread here - http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=4819977&mesg_id=4819977 That could explain a bit of who's pockets it might be "trickeling down" through.

----

Then, the figures that Byron Dorgan gave were amazing! He said

"I should mention that since we began about an hour ago, it's about 9 and one half million dollars of windfall or excess profits above record profits that the industry had already experienced. Figure that for 24 hours a day and you're talking about two hundred and forty million dollars a day in excess or windfall profits. That is the game for the industry and the pain for the consumer. Again, these are profits above that which was already recorded as record profit levels in the year 2004."

edited to add - that's $8,760,000,000 a YEAR at this rate!
