Did anyone else see the bit on Rita Cosby's show where she tries to stir up controversy between Nagin and Blanco where none exists? The correspondent she has on the ground goes into this rant about two different messages coming from Nagin and Blanco at the same press conference. Then they play clips...
Nagin says that people should delay coming back until they are sure Rita is not going to be a problem for NOLA.
Blanco says that people should evacuate (and here she is referring to all Southwest Louisiana residents not just NOLA.)
Where's the contradiction? Where's the mixed message?
It's just the MSM back up to their old tricks again.
Come to think of it... did they ever present any hard evidence that Nagin and the USACE were actually locking horns over people returning? Nope. And there probably was none. Not that I particularly leap to the defense of DINO Nagin, but if he had kept the white folks out of the relatively undamaged neighborhoods they would have roasted him on a spit. What really probably happened is Nagin said to the USACE behind the scenes "I gotta give the go ahead, but please scare these people into not coming back" to the USACE who could deliver that message without ramifications. Never did I see the USACE guy rant about Nagin or visa versa.
Oh, and who's this Reagan/Bush ex-FEMA guy they have on now that thinks that Nagin is a "whiner" and that all the fat corrupt Texas mayors would have done such a great job in his position without the benefit of the fire of Katrina coverage under their asses? If he's so great, why isn't he on the ground working like Clinton's guy?
One thing they did tell the truth about though. Rita Cosby does gust wind up to 130mph.
I think media matters needs to look into the MSM's cheezy attempt to "spice up" the interplay between officials here with trumped up imaginary conflicts.
