Who the HELL do they think they are?
Forgive me, I must rant.

Seriously, who in the fricking frack does this administration think it is? They're not the damn royal family. They work for US. They live in OUR house, they hold congress in OUR building, they sign every piece of shitty legislation they pass with OUR pens. The whole purpose of government is to work for the people and to protect them. The take our tax dollars and dole them out to their buddies, uncontested, so that they can profit off their wars and our personal misfortune. They let them overcharge them and then have the audacity to cap wages below prevailing wages for the lowly saps doing the grunt work. Meanwhile they leave our dead rotting in the streets for over 3 weeks. 3 WEEKS! WHAT civilized society does that?? They act like they're doing us a FAVOR when they half-ass do their JOB, implying that the Katrina victims are ungrateful opportunists or something. Hello... pot, kettle?

They want to investigate their incompetence THEMSELVES. Just how fucking stupid do they think we are? 82% of the American people want an independent investigation. Do you think they even care? These arrogant motherfuckers work for US, and they're accountable to US. Not to themselves, to US. They have no right to tell us when and who we can question when they fuck up and they have no right to act like it's none of our business.

This partially applies to the Democrats who are so worried about reelection or bad PR or being rude or whatever the hell they're thinking when they're letting them get away with all their shit. Stop being such pansy asses and do your JOB for the PEOPLE.

The whole lot of them need a freaking reality check.

7. The reason they don't care what we think is that they know they
have the elections rigged. All over but the counting, as it were.

They don't have to care and they don't have to be accountable because the only consequence their actions COULD have would be to make sure they don't get re-elected.

Since they KNOW they will vapor-vote themselves back into office....why bother with what the people think?

And the Dems pretend they don't know about the fraud because they lack the self-confidence to think that they could be elected legitimately.

You are right: it is FUBAR. The whole fucking vicious circle, FUBAR.

9. Note to pansy-ass Dems:
If you are worried about re-election, get with the program. The American electorate is sick to death of the neocons, and we are desperate to vote for anybody who opposes them.

18. Get with the program?
Start now taking control of technology needed to swing 100,000's of votes from R to D column in next election? Wow! The next election is going to be a video game -- which hacker can hit the buttons fast enough to swing the most votes. Oh, wait - the GOP owns the top 3 voting machine companies - Diebold, ES&S and Sequoia. (Meaning: If we don't fix the corrupt voting systems the pansy-ass Dems are screwed whether they get with the program or not).

"The American electorate is desperate to vote for anybody who opposes them." Right! Of course, BEEN THERE, DONE THAT. The American electorate casts votes such that Kerry won in a landslide - if the votes had been counted fairly. It would've been an even bigger landslide if the votes had been cast fairly.

IF WE DON'T FIX THE CORRUPT ELECTIONS IT DOES NOT MATTER WHO RUNS, WHAT THEY SAY, OR FOR WHOM AMERICANS CAST THEIR VOTES.

31. I completely agree on the corrupted elections problem
and it includes but goes way beyond the machines. However, we need to attack every front: get people to show up and vote, let them get into the polling place, let their votes be counted accurately, and let the true results of the election be reported and enforced.

This post happened to be on just the first item.

Well said. Mad as hell and not going to take it any more.
But what are we going to do about it besides march on DC?

These guys aren't going willingly. They own the ballot boxes.
So where does that leave us? In a place where we won't want to be quoted on a message board, methinks.

16. Did you see the Reps on CSPAN last night about 11pm?
They were having an anti-* pow-wow. Ranting and raving. It was great. Too bad there were only about five of them, and no 'majority' members present.

Wasserman was one... I forget the names of the others, but there was also an African-American man from Florida and a white guy with a Ross-Perot-esque chart.

They could give a rat's ass! They don't have to. Who defends the American people when needed? Certainly not the evil, maniacal madmen that claim to be the "leaders" of this country! Actions have consequences. Every spineless Repub and Dem in this country owns this bullshit! That's right! Ownership. They OWN this evil. Now, what are they going to do about it?

you're forgetting one minor problem. They don't give a damn. The people who do don't have any sort of power to stop anything. So why would they stop their agenda to care about us? And how are you/we going to stop people from voting for them?

34. This is the nature of power though
Historically, states have been the preferred vehicle for oppression, power, and control. This is the result of heavily concentrating decision-making power into the hands of a relatively few people.

When people get screwed over by a politician, they do the same thing over again and choose another politician who promises to correct the wrongs, but then again, the crook they just booted out also promised to right the wrongs committed under the watch of the guy who came before him. To me, it sounds like the definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over again and expecting different results.

I don't believe anyone should become dependant upon political parties in general. They are untrustworthy and are nihilitic in nature anyway, and I haven't even started talking about the role of special interest money in politics. That's the elephant in the room that has been ignored too long.
