2. Good, he will get in ,but we don't have to make it easy for him.
I can't believe our government is "taking a stab in the dark" and allowing this man- whom no one know much about- to hold one of the highest and esteemed positions in America. This is absolutely scary. We can only hope for the best.

3. Talk is cheap...why won't they hold him until 1989-93 papers released?
They are caving while talking tough.

EACH and EVERY Senator could put a hold on his confirmation and, last I checked, the GOP still doesn't have the votes to kill a hold.

The GOP is on the ropes...if it was EVER a time to get tough, this is it.

Those papers during the first Bush administration should be RELEASED!

6. I think it has something to do with the filibuster agreement and
not wanting to look like obstructionists. It also appears most Americans have a favorable view of Roberts and a little unreleased paperwork just looks like a petty reason to hold up a nomination.

10. "a little unreleased paperwork" is GOP spin
The democrats haven't countered that spin.

His work from 1989-1993 is CRITICAL.

Just because the media repeats talking points, doesn't make it so.

And the filibuster agreement didn't END the dems right to fully investigate a nominee.

IMO, the evasiveness and 1989-1993 papers ARE reason hold his ass in place until we get the truth, until we get answers.

This is a lifetime appointment.

11. Ah yes I will never forget
The famous Will Pitt (whom I usually agree with) touting that the filibuster agreement SAVED roe v. wade. NOW it's used as a reason to confirm Roberts!! Lovely. Appease once appease forever. The Vichy Dems do not get it. Or they don't give a shit. You don't appease traitors and liars and thieves. It NEVER works.

7. We're not sure if he's done anything really wrong...
but we are sure he hasn't done anything really right. At this late date is not any action taken by the current government perceived as criminal in thought if not deed?

15. He was apart of
the legalings with Iran/Contra hon. And Bush in 2000. There could be tons of stuff there! I deserve to see them as do you and everyone else here! What if there was a way to make a campaign to Email these senators speaking out telling them they shouldn't vote or hold the voting until they get those papers and if George Bush wants that vote he'd release those papers!

16. This federal government needs to be halted....
There is way too much documented corruption. To allow any person nominated by these documented crooks is to be negligent. The bar needs to be higher not lower. I will take your suggestion and email my reps...good idea!!!

8. Kerry makes a speech, that he wrote and Bennet can't do better than
read from the LA TIMES? What the hell? Can't they think of words of their own? I am so sick of them allowing the papers to "speak" for them. You should be MAKING The news, not reading it to us on the Senate floor. Another ASSHAT!

17. LATimes was one of the papers who helped coverup IranContra and BCCI
for BushInc.

I would bet those papers Roberts is hiding are part of those cases.

Damn....why did Clinton keep that case closed? Worst mistake he ever made.
