Will (R) Gov Perry be praised for effective evacuation?
If the people of Galveston have the fear of God put in them from seeing what happened in New Orleans, (although they should all know what happened to their little island in 1900) and get the hell out of town, will Rick Perry get the credit? Will Rush be doing a little "compare and contrast", showing how smooth and efficient Republican government is in TX vs LA? Will Faux be commenting on how it was all done "without big government intruding?"

Does my cat like to chase shiny things?

3. The Prep For Rita Only Points To the "Lack Of Action"....
...by FEMA and Bush, who was totally clueless and out of touch on Katrina.

4. Geez...it's like having the Cliff Notes with you for an exam
Only an outright idiot wouldn't learn at least a little something from Katrina. Of course, W is 'working hard' at redeeming himself via this new hurricane.

6. What evacuation is Perry doing?
The TV newsguys here are covering evacuations being planned & carried out by various City & County governments.

We're hearing NADA about how Perry (or Bush) is helping.

Houston's mayor is a Democrat.

7. Thanks for the report from the trenches
I've heard conservatives praising Perry for how well he handled all the evacuees that were sent to TX, and how that compared to how badly Louisian's governor and New Orlean's mayor were handling things.

Just made assumptions going forward. Glad to hear it's not coming true.

8. As is Galveston's mayor
And, yes, they are the ones responsible for how well things are going. Perry hasn't done diddly.

9. Galveston only has 60,000 people
Maybe they should hold off with the bragging unless they decide to evacuate Houston. Then let's see how they do.

10. Where's He Gonna Put Houston "Refugees"
Someone noted this the other day and as this storm gets closer to Houston I'm wondering if Mr. Perry's bailing out of his Chimpster boss might backfire.

Should Houston take a big hit, it's sure to create strains on all sorts of services and could force a nasty situation where someone has to decide which "refugees" are more important...Katrina or Rita.

FEMA continues to screw up with getting aid to the Katrina areas and now will have to expand its operations over another couple thousand square miles? Perry may have set his own disaster here.

12. No. He would have to be a complete idiot not to learn from what happened.
After what happened in New Orleans, they HAVE TO do the right thing. If not, people will riot. The lame excuses didn't stick in New Orleans and if tried again the people will revolt.

The spotlight is on and everyone is watching.
