1. No, Hartmann is part of the new syndication company AAR has started...
local channels can choose which shows they wish to run, or just buy "syndicated" AAR hosts.

Hartmann is on the "main" AAR stream on Sunday afternoon.

Air America Radio has formed Air America Syndication, a separate division designed to offer additional programming and services to both Progressive Talk and other talk/music formats. The announcement was made by CEO Danny Goldberg, president of Air America Radio Gary Krantz and president of Programming Jon Sinton.

Air America Syndication will distribute the nationally-syndicated, The Thom Hartmann Program, and will expand its weekend network line-up of progressive talk beginning this Sunday (September 11).

“Thom Hartmann is one of the great progressive minds and we are thrilled to help expand his role in the American conversation,” said Goldberg.

“Thom Hartmann has shown enormous success in many markets around the country, from Seattle to Pittsburgh,” said Krantz. “We are thrilled to have Thom be a part of Air America’s unmatched line-up of talent and are looking forward to helping him grow in affiliations, audience, revenue, and most importantly, as an important progressive voice in the media landscape.”

2. So many markets might not get Franken?
if those markets choose to do so...wow. Hey so is Ed on this syndication format?

3. Seattle is taking the Hartmann show live and moving Franken on recorded
after him, for example.

Ed Schultz is not part of the syndication package, and actually, not part of Air America. He is on some stations as part of a previous contract, I believe.

It's more likely that markets that already have Franken could have Hartmann syndicated on another station.

7. The Answer May Be "Evantually"
After all, it's an open secret that Franken wants Norm Coleman's hide, so in a year or two that slot will be open.

Personally, I hope they put Randi in Al's slot, and maybe slip Hartmann into Randi's spot. Randi beats Rush every time they face each other, and that would be FUN going into '08!
