Rita: Any Damage Will STILL Be About * Cutting Infrastructure Funding

When Rita hits, there will be significant damage. And, there's a good chance that NOLA will also see significant damage, including new levee breaks. The RWNM will be very, VERY busy getting out the talking point that "NOLA was then, this is now...quit beating up on *...there are new challenges and disasters to deal with...etc."

But the elephant in the room, the BIG FACT is that if NOLA goes under water again, it will be because bush cut the funding to the Army Corp of Engineers over the past 3 years, the funding that would have helped to fix those water retention systems along the Gulf coast. It needs to be made clear that *'s idiotic policies have lasting and *ongoing* effects that are not limited to one storm, one war or one area of the country.

The diversionary tactics from the RWNM are going to be their own hurricane on this one. Count on it.

My prediction: by the time Rita is done, we may well be looking at half a TRILLION dollars in rebuilding expenses. And *that* will lead to the RW looking for new ways to blame the victims of *'s policies and to concoct new and creative ways to let the federal government walk away from its commitments to rebuild flood-damaged areas.
