Jack Cafferty's question: Is there too much media attention to hurricanes |
|
and not enough on Iraq?
Just as he started the answer, Leslie Blitzer interrupted him with "BREAKING NEWS! BREAKING NEWS! BREAKING NEWS! "Rita is now a Catagory 5 hurricane" then switches to NOAA and then some Texas mayors press conference. From there to commercials and Cafferty is forgotten.
Guess that kinda answers the question, now doesn't it...

2. Hurricanes are the new terrorism |
|
The media has found its storyline. Not that Katrina, and probably Rita, don't deserve it--but this happened last week for Ophelia, which any other year would have been a bottom-of-the-news item.

i do believe we are getting an ass kicking from nature that WILL bring home our troups. talk about being vulnerable to terrorist attacks! what we have already seen in NO will be trippled in texas, and that will spawn horrific storms everywhere in the southwest. power grids will go bonkers. here comes Jack. i love this guy

5. Pretty much sums it up right there... |
|
Corporate media at it's best.
I'm sure CNN failed to say that Rita is forcast to weaken to a cat 3 before landfall. But I forgot, Wolf said his job was to "make news," right?

11. Here in Houston, waiting for Rita.... |
|
We have lots of local coverage--with local authorities announcing evacuation plans, etc.
Do I really need to know what Wolf Blitzer has to say about Bushie's latest comments on the storm? Hell, no!
