Pat Robertson angry "God killed the wrong judge"
Edited on Wed Sep-21-05 03:50 PM by Fight_n_back
Pat Robertson expressed outrage yesterday at God having taken the life of the wrong Supreme Coourt Justice. His comments were muted earlier this month but yesterday he went on a tirade on his QVC show "Blood Diamonds are a gift from God".

Robertson was in the middle of talking about how the families forced to mine diamonds for terrorists are better off without all of their arms because of the money they save on dress shirts when he veered in to a tirade about God's bad aim in killing William Rehnquist.

"People wondered why I called out Hugo Chavez by name its because God needs pretty strict instructions on who to kill." Robertson took some responsibility for only praying that God "open a vacancy" on the court. "We should have been praying for him to slay the Jewsih chick, thats who we wanted dead." Robertson said that Christians need to be much more precise when praying for members of governments to die, "We will be putting a list on our 700 Club website so that God can make no mistake as to which people we want to die." Some of the names expected to go on the list are Hillary Clinton, Jimmy Carter and Bubba McCluskey, a bully that terrorized Robertson in Third Grade.

Robertson's tirade is not expected to affect profits from his diamond mines but may be the reason that Hurricane Rita is gathering strength.

Be careful what you ask for because you just might get it!

I sincerely believe God has a great sense of humor as well as irony.

10. Robertson is dealing diamonds with dictators and terrorists
In 1989, Charles Taylor seized power in Liberia. In 1997, he was elected president, but many observers said that the elections were fraudulent. Taylor is wanted in Sierra Leone as a war criminal, and most everyone agrees that he is the main impediment to peace in his own nation. So why is his biggest defender American religious leader Pat Robertson?

There seems to be very little that is good that can be said about the government of Charles Taylor. During the time of Taylor's rule, Liberia has been plagued by civil war and domestic strife; a cease-fire agreement requires that he step down, allowing for the creation of a transitional government and new, free elections. President Bush has asked him to make sure that he leaves office so that Liberia might finally achieve peace, and Taylor has accepted an offer of asylum from Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The United States has passed laws banning the import of diamonds from war-torn African countries, including Liberia, because they are used to fund war and terrorism. A United Nations-established tribunal has indicted Taylor for backing diamond-financed militias that raped and maimed civilians during the civil war in Sierra Leone.

None of this, however, sits well with Pat Robertson. In broadcasts of his 700 Club program, Robertson has criticized President Bush's call for Taylor to step down, has praised Taylor as a "fellow Baptist," and has accused the State Department of being the real cause of Liberia's problems. To quote Robertson's own words: So we're undermining a Christian, Baptist president to bring in Muslim rebels to take over the country. And how dare the president of the United States say to the duly elected president of another country, 'You've got to step down.'

18. God can't say no to Pat
Some poeple think its because Pat has naked pictures of God at a party but I think its because God needs Pat to spread the good word about capitalism. How can any of of us forget the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, spoke for three hours on the free market.

Then when he needed to feed the people he told his disciples "give the rich these fish and loaves, the poor can get what trickels down"

24. Satire is wasted on a nation going insane
There probably wasn't a whole lot of call for it in 1937 Germany, either.

For the same reason, Hitler and Goebbels' pronouncements were as insane as Bush & Limbaugh's.

Nothing to crazy for those maniacs, then or now, to endorse.

32. When a society is gone completely insane, it's hard to recognize satire
Most of the stuff this gang of criminals actually do would have been the stuff of satire just a few years ago. To satirize them, you have to go so far over the top as to be ludicrous.

I was more than halfway thru the original post before I was sure it was satire.

He sed the magic incantation: "Ah excep' Jesus Chrah-st as mah parsonal saivyer" therefore he is exempt from laws, morals, irony, The Ten Commandments, eating spinach, and washing behind his ears.

33. Your satire is good...What's sad is how many people didn't read the whole
thing. Obviously, if they had, they would have realized what it was. But even after you admitted it was satire, people STILL kept responing like it was fact. Hilarious!

Good post!
