Even if * manages to pay attention this time, his stance on Global Warming
makes him a loser.

I am absolutely convinced that the intensity of these storms is a by-product of global warming.

1. In recording, the joke is "we can fix it in the mix".
There's no "undo" regarding weather.

2. So does every reputable scientist that has looked into .....
Global Warming .... you keep informed company. Unless they are getting a kick back from some special interest group representing big business. You know the usual suspect 'think tanks' ...... Peace.

3. it seems to be consistent with theory and models
We know a lot more than we did 20 years ago. We certainly know enough to start taking action, both on the adaptation side (preparing for more severe weather events) and mitigation (decreasing emissions).

The thing is, the steps we'd need to take, in both areas, are also ones which would make us more secure, better-prepared for natural disasters, with a more robust economy, and healthier population (since air quality is being affected by the same processes that produce greenhouse gases). There is a "no regrets" strategy being proposed by many global warming researchers which would not involve anything as radical as abandoning fossil fuels overnight -- often using existing technology and legal mechanisms (more access to public transit, more sensible urban planning, etc.)

4. Just imagine
a world without freeways... without obesity (because we walk)... with clean air...

just imagine. Cars are destroying us. They have taken over. They kill our children, they must be fed more and more, they destroy the air we breath.

How much happier would I be walking to work? How much healthier. But my job is 30 mis. from where I live. And while I could get a bit closer, the actual school I work in has virtually no housing around it.

I spend my life in a car and I don't even drive! (My husband drives both of us to work as we work a block apart.)

I can't wait to retire. You young guys have got to figure a way out of this mess.

5. I agree with you on global warming being the cause. If we had
the person we elected in 2000, we may stand a chance of reversing the devastating effects of this problem in the future. If we start acting on it now, we could save the planet and our own species. If not, we are in some serious trouble.
