So, they are pulling National Guard out of LA/MISS to go to Texas...
MSNBC had a report about this. CNN's Blitzer had head of Texas National Guard, Rodriguez on and Wolf never asked him if he was "robbing NO's and Miss to Pay Texas off" but even Rodriguez said they would have to reploy NG from "other areas" to cope with the hurricane.

This all seems like Mucho Bush Bravado....Total Organization...Hospital Ships Ready off shore (except that there are reports the "Ships" had to get OUT of the Gulf because of Rita...which means they aren't there for NO's which is still in disaster recovery and they won't get back in the gulf for days.

Lots of DISINFORMATION going on with Rove doing another of his Smoke and Mirrors Theatrical Productions to show that they "can get it right  the SECOND TIME AROUND.

That's what I think...anyway. I wonder if the folks in Texas are going to fare much differently from the La/Miss. folks when all is said and done. They still think they can shove crap and folks will believe it. It's a "bite Bush in the Ass Scenario" I think.

4. Who knows what the real numbers on the "NG" are...Only Rummy knows
for sure...but I think it's been covered up for too long. We Taxpayers spent all kinds of dollars to make sure America would be safe after 9/11 and it all seems to have gone for NOTHING....except an Invasion of a Country that had NOTHING to do with what happened on 9/11 and the "dreams and fantasies" of a small "coven" of folks who got Bush's ear that "rose petals thrown at liberators" would be more important than keeping America safe at home from the weather and infrastructure threats that neither our Repugs or Dems EVER gave the money for..prefering instead to keep funing very limited pork projects for their states just to get re-elected.

The lack of support for projects at home for War Abroad goes throughout our 20th Century Presidents. It's time now to "Focus Inward." Much at home needs to be taken care of.

5. Only CBS Network seemed to get into a discussion about this...
What I wonder is if you are a "Big Bucks Developer" and you go buy up all that property from folks who NEVER want to come back...and you give them your "low ball price" and they Accept It...

Then..How the Hell are you going to clean up the toxic waste and replant the trees and make it all seem like it WAS BERFORE...in just a year or two?

Can these Carney Barkers/Real Estate Hawkers REALLY BELIEVE that folks will come BACK to the GULF ...just because one can make "a quick buck?"

Maybe in a few "Decades" if one is a 20 Something who believes in Gold Rushes...but what if the "wildlife that folks love" NEVER COMES BACK...and what about those of us who AREN't 20 Somethings?

:scared:

3. Reality may bite Rove.
It's like a Sims game. He's stretched our resources too thin. Everyone warned them we needed to be prepared for emergencies, but they ran up the deficit and sent our troops and equipment to Iraq. Now the town is starting to fall apart, and BushCo has no idea what to do. They're playing politics, and people see it.

And man, I drive along I-10 from Austin to Gulfport five or six times a year. I can't even count the number of refineries I pass.
