Blitzer blows bigger than any hurricane
Ya know....this guy is just BRUTAL. He is an absofuckinglutely brutal anchor. Setting completely aside his monotonous droning throughout the course of his three hour "telethon in search of a disease" (which I believe is what Jack Cafferty was quoted somewhere the other day as saying), he is an unabashed alarmist....using all these over-the-top superlatives in reference to Katrina and the upcoming Rita. And it's like when his show comes on the air....ding, ding, ding....all hell has broken loose in the world of news. Suddenly it's all about "live, simultaneous video feeds coming in from across America and around the world". Suddenly, the sense of urgency about EVERYTHING just goes through the roof....up until the, **cough**, "Situation Room" goes on the air....things are more or less portrayed on CNN along an even keel. Then...it's like 'run for cover everybody' shit is flying, shit is happening, shit is everywhere!! Wolf hypes up tragedy to boost his own ratings....and when there's nothing too serious going on....he hypes it up anyway. And then there's the seeming contradiction of his extreme rigidity in talking with regular contributor Cafferty. Jack lays him out virtually every time they do a bit together...and Wolf is either too ego-driven or too stupid (or both) to offer anything more than a half-hearted response.

What IS CNN's fascination with Blitzer?? Someone, please tell me. It makes absolutely no sense. None. At all. :puke: :wtf:

2. Americans like strong manly men with fake names
And we need all that eye candy to distract us as our pockets are being picketed and the american dream is being strangled.

3. You go with what you know...
especially in broadcast journalism. That's why network anchors have careers that are decades-long.

Wolf proved himself during the first Gulf War, then wrote his own ticket afterward.

12. Oh, that voice....that insistently DRONING, utterly flat voice!!!
And you're right he is absolutely humourless. Cafferty gives him an opening....he balks each and every time.

10. Cafferty mocks Delay.
When Blitzie reported that Delay had said that everything in the energy bill is needed. Cafferty responded"Hasn`t he been indited yet?":headbang:

25. LMAO...

Cafferty is great. For the longest time, I couldn't stand him, but was still intrigued at his ability to make sense sometimes. Now I know there was some substance behind all that grump.

11. You mean Wolf "The Iron Man Of Television News" Blitzer?
CNN actually ran a promo that said that a while back.
I think it got laughed off the air in a few days.
Wish I could find a clip.

He is such an asshat.

18. Oh, big time!
I remember how he had some California power spokeswoman on (or someone like that) who kept telling him that someone had cut a line by mistake or at least that it wasn't in any way terrorism-related. Wolf seemed crestfallen, and didn't really want to hear it. What a pathetic joke of a journalist.

14. A theory on Blitzer
I remember how he was humilitated during Gulf War I when he erroneously reported that Saddam's Republican Guard had been "decimated" in the first few hours of the war.

He disappeared from the mainstream of CNN for a while and then, suddenly, he was on the top of the heap!

My theory.....

While he was exiled from CNN mainstream, he was assigned the task of "copy boy", bringing news copy from office to office. Then one, day, while delivering copy, he walked into the office of a CNN executive and caught him in a compromising position with a (take your pick) male/female secretary/news anchor/reporter. His silence was purchased with plum assignments from that day on.

just a theory.........

and of course, all in jest....

17. He's rude, inconsiderate & out of his league with the multiple screens.
He interrupts his guests to talk about the latest scene that shows up on his multiple screens & many times he does not get back to the guest. I would be pissed if I made time & got cut off like that. He is not able to prioritize or multi-task. Anderson Cooper would be sooooooo much better.

I've written to CNN a couple of times about Wolf & never get a response. In fact, the only time I do get a response is if I check the "positive" option & even then it's a canned response.

News, indeed! They don't give a shit what we think -- they just want to spoon feed us their white house bullshit.
