Any early estimates on how many will be at DC march Sat?
Will it be 50 or 100 thousand or will it be more around the 10 to 20 mark?

8. not going either. someone had to stay in
town to batten down the hatches if need be with mom and boyfriend out of town. i will be with all in spirit and hope to make the next trip. hopefully there won't be a need for one. ;)

i may try to stop by the local action on my way to pick up mom at the airport. y'all have fun! having been to the pro-choice rally in dc in the early 90s, i appreciate the experience you will have.

10. I think it will be at least 100,000
Edited on Wed Sep-21-05 09:38 PM by meganmonkey
And that is conservative. The one in Jan of 2003 had at least 200,000. The city said there were 100,000 and the organizers said 500,000 so I figure it was probably 250,000. That was before the war even started and the majority of americans still supported the war.

The media will use vague terms like 'tens of thousands'. I use the formula that it is somewhere in between what the cops/city say and what the organizers say

on edit: here's a list of cities arranging buses, to give you some idea...and the majority of people do not take those buses...I took a bus a couple times from Ann Arbor, the first time there were 2 buses, the second time I think there were 4 or 5. And that time there were about 10 from Detroit. 60-some people per bus, jsut from those 2 towns that's almost a thousand folks, and I knew probably 30 people who flew there or drove seperate...

11. Buses From 200+ Cities
The good folks at ImpeachBush.org have stated that every major metropolitan area in the Northeast will be represented inside the Beltway on Saturday and that at least 200 cities have organized bus departure locations. If we figure a conservative estimate of 30 people on each of 200 buses, that works out to 6,000 people. I, for one, believe that we'll have 600,000 people and wish that I could be there.
