Cognitive dissonance and a freeper

Ok ok so today I went to the UPS store to send yet another package to our troop in Afghanistan, and what I am about to tell you was amazing...

So here I am bringing goodies in, candy, foot powder, a movie, the usual crap that I know kid will appreciate, and ask for usual Dec Form (Yes second trip to store that I find a freeper in similar circumstances)

Well here is this gentleman, extremely well dressed... in the store, and he asks, so what is that for?

Afghanistan.

Why?

Troop, we send stuff every month or so...

We have no troops over there, you are supporting the enemy?

No supporting the troops, there are 50K troops over there still... my irritation was starting to rise

So what you think of bush?

He is a miserable failure

You damn liberals I knew it you don't support the troops! (Mind you they are packing a package FOR A TROOP IN HARMS WAY)

Before I could tear this guy a new one, verbally of course, this other lady did, see her son is stuck in that other vacation spot, you all have heard of it, Fallujah... and my lord I thought I was hearing a DI swearing at this guy... who left his tail in between his legs...

Yet the lesson is... you don't support the troops (Yes he had one of them ribbons, he was parked in front of the store and I checked as he left) but I am sending a package to a troop...

Thought you guys may get a laugh out of this one.

I did... oh and took mom over to Starbucks and treated her for some coffee and found that next month better put some stuff for gun cleaning in the mail too.

5. It is san diego,

they are all over the place... the place is far more liberal than it used to be, but I live on the "wrong side of the tracks" aka the better to do, hence white and GOP

Oh and on edit I don't mind encountering these freaks... it is always a pleasure to hand them their asses, but I have noticed the incredibly shriking base... by the way

8. Today the propane

guy came and he was talking to my landlord and repeating every right wing talking point in the book, such as we have to fight 'em over there instead of fighting 'em over here, blah, blah, blah. We couldn't get him over here for a week and then he wouldn't leave he was yakking so much!
