I watched it. I think Phil did a great job. However, after reading all these "Phil ripped him a new one!" posts, I expected him to have, well...really ripped him a new one. I tried to watch it from a more detached perspective, or even from the perspective of "the other side." Bill did fine. He pointed his finger, slapped Phil around in that peculiar schoolyard-bully way which so confuses the freepers -- they think anger and yelling equates to strength. From that vantage point, I'd bet there are freepers out there posting simultaneously about how Bill put that lilly-livered Donohue in his place.

Every time he did that, Phil put that wry smile on and twice actually laughed at Billy-boy. It's pretty hard to look like you're in a position of strength when your opponent is laughing in your face. At you!

I think you're overanalyzing in hopes of not being too optimistic. There is not one person with an IQ higher than a carrot that would think Billy-boy bullied Donahue.

Of course, half the population at Free Republic fits into that IQ demographic.

Phil wasn't cowed by all that bluster, he just smiled and called him "Billy", who the hell calls him "Billy." I was visiting with my folks and my dad commented... he must have had an agreement not to shut his microphone off, cuz thats what he does, and it's true, he never shut Phil down.

I almost NEVER turn on 24 hour cable, much less someone like O'Reilly, it's so dumb and predictable most the time I could write Bills rants for him, but I was really happy to catch that.

but I did watch that segment last night. Donahue Whiped the floor with Billy Boy... and when I say boy, I mean it. Bill O'Reilly just comes off as a petulant child/ egomaniac who screams and yells when an interview isn't steered his way. I can't believe people even watch him... he's so pathetic.
