I don't post often, but I thought that this would be useful.
http://weather.gov/rita/This is a one-stop information site for all updated information concerning the hurricane. It has radar images, the latest advisories, and links to local emergency management offices. I often track weather on the NOAA site, especially when there's stuff like this going on, and I found this particular link to be very helpful -- you don't have to cut through the chaff on the NOAA home page to get to the information you need.
This is the first time I've seen NOAA do something like this -- another indication that climate patterns are indeed causing us to look at tropical weather more seriously than we have been. It used to be that storms such as Katrina and Rita were once-every-decade-or-so events. I'm afraid though, that Category 1 and 2 hurricanes will become the rare ones, and 3s, 4s, and 5s the norm. :scared:
