New Orleans: "Body hunt turns up children, the elderly"

Body hunt turns up children, the elderly
New Orleans search could take six more weeks

....

Searchers finding children

Dr. Louis Cataldie, medical incident commander for Louisiana, said the elderly appear to make up the bulk of the dead but that searchers also are finding more children.

"That's tough," he said.

Much of the final search was being conducted in eastern New Orleans. Crews probed areas of the city that just recently have been drained enough to allow ground searches -- neighborhoods that were closest to the fractured levees and bore the brunt of the floodwaters' force.

Bodies are still found scattered around homes and in streets. On Tuesday, a badly decomposed corpse in the Ninth Ward lay draped over a fence, its nearly skeletized head resting on the ground and one leg jutting in the air.

Searchers smashed through doors in New Orleans on Wednesday, bringing their hunt for the dead to homes that had been locked and to blocks hardest hit by Katrina's flooding. (AP Photo/Paul Sancya)

14. Since Mayro Nagin overestimated the death count, anything less sounds good

I realize Nagin was in a tough spot, but when he claimed that there might be as many as 10K dead in NOLA he set the expectation so high that many people now feel relieved maybe even happy that the actual count is far less. And we needed people to angry over the death count in order to promote political change. I wish he hadn't done that.

4. I can see Bush, Cheney and Condi joking over that decomposed body
hanging over the fence. Bush loves stuff like this. He probably has a photo album sitting on his desk for the most gruesome photo's so he can look at them for hours when it's his "drinking time." He and Cheney probably get a "hard on" over it. The album sits next to their "deck of cards" with terrorist photos and the Pictures from Abu Graeb...

6. Those guys are evil enough without pinning nonsense on them.
Doesn't help your case, it weakens it.

7. Have you forgotten the "Deck of Cards" and Saddam's pearl handled gun
that Bush just loves to show off to anyone visiting the oval office?

You better believe this guy has his "albums."

I hate to think what they will find when he vacates the White House...

Thanks for pointing those examples out.

13. Please don't forget his mocking of Carla Faye Tucker on TV!
And I'm not supposed to believe that he is a callous, incaring, basically evil person? Someone who asked Gonzales and others to help him find a way to approve torture.

Nope, I think he is classic uncaring evil.

15. As DU'ers have noted...he smirks whenever "evil, terror, killers, terraist
comes out of his mouth. His eyes light up and the barely concealed smirk starts. It's very creepy how he enjoys saying words that connote violence and disruption.
