Anybody talking about a Windfall profits tax on the oil companies
and sunsetting the tax cuts for the rich in order to pay for the gulf coast repairs?

1. Just the ordinary consumer....nobody in the federal, state or local
...government or regulatory agencies seem to give a shit about oil profits, ecept that the companies are able to make as much profit as possible

Need this point even be mentioned?

Check out TPM and how difficult it is for Repugnicans to decide which way to skin this cat...but every way is even more destructive to the economy. Be asured of that. Self interest is at a premium these days.

5. AS usual-all talk, no action....
Why Bush lets big oil ruin the economy-while price controls would surely help his approval rating, is beyond me. Maybe it's his buddies in big oil or the inability of dems to make an organized stink about it, that allows the status Quo to continue.
