Boarding up? Try PLYLOX clips. No screws, no nails.
These things are FANTASTIC!
Just used them on a 10' X 4' set of windows.
Easy in, easy out.
Absolutely ingenious.
A bag of 20 cost me $30, but well worth it.
And no, I don't work for them.

PLYLOX™ window clips are the ingenious, inexpensive, non-destructive way to protect your windows from high winds and airborne debris. Installed in seconds, PLYLOX™ window clips slide onto the edge of a 1/2" plywood sheet which is then easily inserted into the exterior window casings of your home or business. No drilling holes. After protecting your home or business from high winds and flying debris, the plywood can be removed in seconds without tools.

2. They are nice, but they don't work for everyone.
Your windows have to be inset at least 2" in the casings. My old windows don't qualify.

3. Neat
Looks like one of those simple "why didn't somebody think of this years ago?" inventions, like car radiator boilover reservoirs.

4. My neighbors couldn't get them to work for them.
My husband used 2x4's cut slightly large to jam in the width of the window and hold the plywood in place.
