Bank has Fox "News" on ALL THREE TV's in branch office!!!
Hi,

I went into the Texxxxx XXXXX branch office today and I was disgusted & outraged to see Fox "News" station ON ALL THREE TV's there. This station is a well known right-wing shill station and I am extremely offended to have this propaganda playing while I am in your office to do business. Please consider changing to a variety of cable news channels so I could feel that a more balanced view is being presented. I'm not sure I'll be able to keep doing business there - even though I have had an account for ~18 years or so. I am extremely offended.

xxxxx xxxx
xxxxxxxx, xx

4. I caught a "story" discrediting global warming as the source
...of exacerbated weather conditions. Not a *debate* mind you -- just one guy they could find to say global warming -- of course -- had "nothing to do with it..."

And people think this is "news..."

TV-B-Gone

For those times when FOX News just won't do. Which is always. Works like a charm.

19. I meant I would buy one that permanently deleted FOX from the TV
Wouldn't that be great? Use the TV-B-Gone on the televison and when the store or bank or car dealership turned the TV back on, FOX would not be a channel alternative.

8. Details please!
They have Fox on at the new Walmart supercenter in the grocery section.

So if I go in there, and Fox is on, would I be able to *zap* it right then and there?

If so, I will buy one in a heartbeat.

11. It turns the TV off.........
it doesn't block anything, just turns it off. It searches all of the TV codes until it finds the specific code for that particular TV. I always have mine with me, I keep my keys on it and I'm NEVER subjected to FOX News when I'm out and about. Best money I've ever spent.

The worst thing we have are Time Magazines in the waiting area.
I kept turning over the issue with Rove on the cover....not that I didn't want people to read up on Plamegate, I just couldn't stand to see that evil face.

18. Complain.
There's no need to have any TV on in a place of business. Let them know how you feel.

If you want to be confrontational, point out that watchers of Fox news are the most ill-informed.

23. An advantage of being a member of a Credit Union
If my credit Uniion had the gall to play Fox in the lobby, I feel like I can demand they take it off, because I'm an owner.

Okay, so I'm one of 16,000 owners, but they know where their bread is buttered, and it isn't by inflicting Fox News on their owner/members.

Member ownership, profits distributed back to members, and all that kind of pinko stuff.

Tell them Mao wouldn't approve of having Fox News in the lobby. :7

27. No response yet.
I've been using this credit union for 18+ years. I'm going to keep pressuring them. I going to go in there and turn off the TV's with the TV off remote thing. I am having others send emails to the CR to express thier digust at this propaganda.

I'm not backing down. RW fascist propaganda should not be shown in public. We must work to destroy this propaganda - it's the most dangerous threat our country faces today.

It's been my one-and-only bank since I got out of college. I will press them to change to at least 3 different stations on three TV's. I will get other people to pressure them. If they don't chenge I will leave and do my best to make sure other Dems don't bank there.

30. Does FOX pay people/companies to run it?
I've seen it in the newspaper kiosks in Grand Central Station (NYC) and elsewhere. CNN too, but less often.

This is a contractual arrangement, like exclusive rights to sell a particular brand of cola in a venue, or getting a MUSAK feed, right? FOX pays for the equipment and advertising space, then run the feed as a moving billboard?

Is that how it works? It must, but I don't know for sure. Does anyone?

33. There is probably an "agreement" at the HQ level
Fox probably "provides" the tvs and cable hookups in exchange for keeping it on their station..

I don't understand why TV is even ON in a bank or any place of business..

Unless there's a world class emergency going on, I would prefer that MY employees did not watch TV while I paid them to work..same for customers.. I would prefer that they shop, instead of stand around and watch TV.
