Does the Gov't NOT realize they must provide for FirstResponder's Families
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 05:49 PM by Pirate Smile
during a natural or other disaster OR a certain percentage will not show up to work?

This applies to police, firefighters, TSA agents if they are supposed to stay and go to work when everyone else is supposed to evacuate.

Tell the TSA workers, cops, etc. - come to work, take your families to some specified place and when the airport shuts down, the military will fly you and your family to safety for the TSA workers and to give peace of mind to the cops, city officials, etc.

Why are they surprised when people take care of their families or evacuate when they live in a mandatory evacuation area?

I hadn't thought about TSA workers before this - did they think of themselves as necessary workers in an emergency who should not evacuate? Were they told that?

1. They've spend billions planning for this stuff supposedly
but they can hardly figure out how to deliver food and water.

2. What have people been studying? Do they consider people robots
without families like everyone else in the city?

I can't believe they haven't figured that out! That was one lesson the NOLA cops should have taught them already.

What a moral dilemma - do your job to help people or take care of your family. I know what a lot of people are going to do.

Lookit, this is not FDRoosevelt's "New Deal" nor is it LBJohnson's "Great Society!" No, this is large government done through the lens of "no government but for the means through corporations who want a profit" basis.

This is the "new government" under neo-cons. The "new government" of the f*ckups. The "new government" where service to the public does not exist. It's antithetical. Corporations serve their stock holders, not the general public nor for the welfare of the general public.

Welcome to neo-con George Walker Bush's America. The model that he is trying to bestow upon the world where taxpayers dollars are granted to private corporations for the "welfare" of the nation.

Now, do you understand why France protested? Why Germany called us idiots?

5. As the wife of a cop
and a former medic, we have talked about this, and have a family plan

We don't expect the government to take care of anything, that is truly the lesson from NOLA

The plan includes the pets (our kids) as well as slowly maknug all our supplies highly mobile... and I mean the month of stores I already have on the pantry

6. Hey, you are paying taxes to EXPECT the government to

serve you the services! Isn't this what George Walker Bush campaigned on? Won the last election on? Trust George during a disaster to protect America!! WTF? Disasters don't come from God, e.g., a hurricane? Disasters (to that demented George) only come through "terrorists?"

Is this why he gives away our federal taxpayers monies to corporations? So that we receive nothing? Just chaos in times of disaster? It doesn't take a mental genius to understand that George Walker Bush's kind of government -- the largest ever -- does not work. Neo-con delivery of goods and services for the public welfare does NOT WORK!

P.S. You may be too young to be aware of another time other than Reagan-crap a la GWBush, but this is all new. Very new. Which is why Europe thinks we are crazy as does Canada too. Since they are on the "old model" not this ridiculous laboratory-test neo-con bullsh*t model.
