Chavez to send a million barrels of oil
The Venezuelan Embassy in Washington D.C. issued a press release late this morning to inform that Venezuela President Hugo Chavez’ pledge to ship approximately an additional one million barrels of gasoline to the United States in the wake of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation will begin to come to fruition on September 25 with the arrival at Port Everglades (Florida) of the bulk tanker 'B/t Energy Pride' with a first shipment of 240,000 barrels.

1. Thats really cool of him,
especially considering that Katrina hit right after "right wing wacko" Pat Robertson called for his assassination!
The only thing though, is that we are not really in danger of running out of oil, as most people are led to believe. (Well, we are in the grand scheme of things, using up all our fossil fuels) The problem is that there are no (or not enough) refineries to change it from crude into usable oil. No one wants to pay to build more refineries here in the US of A because of all the EPA regulations and guidelines etc. So we ship it out all over the world, risking oil spills and more damage to our environment, and make the people believe that we don't have enough. HELLO? The first thing we did after busting in to Iraq was SECURE THE OIL FIELDS. We need to work on a new, cleaner fuel, not getting more oil.

Though it is quite big of him, thanks Chavez.

4. or before the delivery
That increase in supply is really gonna cut down on civilized oil men's profits. If they can't overcharge in a time of crisis why are they even here?
