Scotty sets the record straight on Bush and the guitar

<snip>

Q But it sounds like a bit of a photo op, one that he'd prefer over playing the guitar at the airport photo op.

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, first of all, let's correct the record on that. There was a reporter from your news organization that was backstage during that event. That was an event to go and thank our troops and talk about the war on terrorism. And it was not an event, as you may have portrayed to some people that are watching this out there by this simple statement. It was --

Q He didn't pick up the guitar while the hurricane was rolling into Louisiana?

MR. McCLELLAN: -- much more than that. The person that was entertaining our troops there presented a gift to the President. So I think you need to make that clear to everybody who's watching this or to your viewers. And it was one of your colleagues at ABC News who was backstage taking a picture of that.

Q It was a very good picture and I'm proud of her, but the question I have --

MR. McCLELLAN: Yes, but that picture was taken by someone -- hang on, hang on, Terry -- that picture was taken by some people way out of context. And it was portrayed that the President was simply doing that, and that's not the case, as you and I know.

Q The point was that he was over there and not --

MR. McCLELLAN: As you and I know, I had announced shortly before that, that we were returning the next morning. As you and I know, we had announced the President -- the day before -- all the briefings he was participating in. The President spoke the day before. He spoke that day about the hurricane. So let's just set the record straight.

2. Poor Scotty.
That sort of abuse always leaves a mark.

I empathize, but only in miniscule amounts.

10. Right! AND, he didn't 'go back'
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 08:07 PM by Carla in Ca
He spent another night in Crawford!

Also, if it wasn't a photo-op, why is the presidential seal on the guitar?

Speaking of, I may start using that as my nickname again, I kinda enjoyed it, so he's not even worthy of it. Okay, Scottie.

Here's the agenda: Bush is at a little war on terror shit that's been talked about and talked about. We got a massive fuckin' hurricane comin' right on top of New Orelans. Bush gets a gift of a guitar and begins strumming away, meanwhile. . . a levee breaks in New Orelans and then the next day Bush goes to Washington. Okay, what the fuck is up here? What this is telling me is: 1. Bush doesn't give a shit about Americans, just oil interests and terror. 2. Bush is jamming out on a guitar, playing in from of a massive speech zone (that only his supporters can be in), that shows that the only people he cares about are those that support him, not all of us.

Oh, and one more thing, if you don't fucking like it (the perception of taking people out of context), tell Hannity, Rush and the rest of your crowd to stop doing it to us, god damn it.

7. Scotty, Scotty, Scotty ...
MONDAY, when Katrina was slamming NOLA, blivet** was in AZ, talking to his hand picked crowd of seniors. It was TUESDAY, when the levees were breaking and flooding the city and killing so many and stranding so many others, that blivet** was strumming his gift.

If he was really concerned Scotty, he wouldn't have been there in AZ, talking about a policy that he can't hope to support, now that the GOP wants to cut the new Medicaid benefit OR in CA talking to a bunch of soldiers in their dress whites, accepting gifts that can't possible change the coarse of history for anyone but blivet**. And it is on FILM, Scotty. Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining. I have eyes and a calendar ... and I know how to use both of them. Skills that you might find handy, if you know what I mean. </rant>

8. Anyone care to speculate on the size of the ulcer Scotty's carrying?
Anyone?

If he's not mainlining Mylanta about now, I'd be Amazed!

I lived on Tums for about three years with stress not as great as what he faces during his recent press conferences.

It's even money for him to leave the Bush White House before 2008, "for personal reasons."

Place your bets! Place your bets!

11. George Bush didn't speak about the Hurricane
until 5.00 PM on Tuesday, a day after the levees broke and even then, he was not in DC. He went to a birthday party for John McCain also, and there is that picture of him eating cake, again while his fellow citizens were trapped in a flooded city with no help available.

He didn't show up at the scene of the disaster until Thursday, when he staged a photo op, not in NO, but in Mississippi, mostly to try to gain back some support for himself.

Scott must remember that the main reason he went to see the troops was to spite the mother of a dead soldier, to get away from her, and to appear with 'supportive' troops. Sadly for him, his determination to make her look bad, and himself look like a caring president, backfired.

All that will be remembered about that little phony escapade is that he strummed the guitar and ate cake, while US citizens died like animals on US streets with no help from their country. Some of them, AIRC, were veterans, unlike him and his entire cabal of cowardly draft dodgers.

Meantime, his VP was fly-fishing somewhere and shopping for a mansion. Oh, and we have heard that he did take the time on the day of the Hurricane to divert power from some hospitals in Mississippi to oil refineries, very dangerous work for those who did, and dangerous for those in the hospital who were without power. We did not see him for two weeks when he showed up in Biloxie, and Dr. O told him, very appropriately, to go f#@k himself.

Condy, on Wednesday of that week, was shopping for shoes and going to the theater, and our SOD was at a baseball game.

Not a picture of an administration that cares one bit about the citizens of this country.

However, it seems they were busy, even while they were MIA. Like the vultures they are, they were making sure to profit from the disaster.

Bush took time to make sure that the workers his buddies would hire to rebuild their city, would make as little money as possible. Keeping the wealth in the hands of a few, that few being again, his friends.

Scott should face these questions and more, like 'has Rove been fired yet for outing an undercover agent?' every day. Or better yet, let Bush answer them. He's trying to change history, but it's all recorded, and we are not as dumb as he must have told we are.
