i felt sick this afternoon when they announced on the news, "contraflow is now beginning..."

contraflow should have begun immediately, last night, when the evacuations were announced!

don't order a damn evac & then not have the roads ready to move the ppl

19. When I posted that I always stay home during hurricanes,

some on DU criticized me, not that it would ever change my decision. But please look at this mess and understand. Our only way out of southwest Florida is on I-75, another parking lot. By the time you know it is really coming and want to go, you just can't get out. Honest.

23. We need lots of good, well-stocked shelters, most of which

would take pets with the owners. Where I live, near the beach, the biggest danger is from the winds, like NO until the levees broke. It is really not too bad to ride out a storm in a solid house like ours, with our generator, but if they want us to leave they have to treat us a whole lot better. People need to be free to go back home when they want and must be allowed to bring their animals. You are seeing the misery when you leave your home and follow their stupid advice and get trapped on gasless highways.....or trapped in disasterous "shelters".

the evacuation is set up by the NG and they are in charge to guide the traffic...and is the ambulances along the road to help...but of course in other countries they don't have that many SUV'S or cars...they ether walking or talking the bus...
