Is the eye breaking apart at landfall? (pic)

Looks a bit less organized than it was before. Not being an expert, I don't know how to read the signs.

2. That's what a krtr (?) forecaster--ABC in Houston--
said.

On the other hand, he's also wondering if it's stalling, or at least slowing down. Wouldn't that just be great: have the damned thing stall near shore, and stay there for a few extra hours.

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT/gmex-ir4-loop.html shows the eye barely hanging in there. The composite radar out of Lake Charles shows it's having trouble, but not as much as the infrared loop.

I'm marvelling that I still have electricity.

3. Any word on the storm surge in Louisiana around Lake Charles?
That region is very low, right at sea level for a long way back.

4. A lot of it is over land which doesn't have warm water to fuel it.
It's a standard, usual and predictable result of meteorology.
