3. It's not sad! (Happy is hard because their owners aren't there, but...)
You won't feel sad after you watch this. It's a PR piece for Marin County (CA?) Humane Society (or similar organization). I think they did a foster pet lift from New Orleans.

2. Thanks to the people who remember what compassion is. This
is a great reflection on the heart of Americans.

( I am not talking about those who refused to let pets be rescued)

6. The lyrics are perfect:
Traveling at night, the headlights were bright
And we'd been up many an hour
And all through my brain
Came the refrain
Of home and it's warming fire

CHORUS
And Home
Sings me of sweet things
My life there has it's own wings
To fly over the mountains
Though I'm standing still

The people I've seen
They come in between
The cities of tiring life
The trains come and go,
But inside you know
The struggle will soon be a fight

CHORUS

Traveling at night,
The headlights were bright.
But soon the sun came through the trees
Around the next bend
The flowers will send
The sweet scene of home in the breeze

15. There is so much work going on to rescue as many as
possible. Unfortunately you are right, not all will be saved and that is so sad. We all need to be the voice for the innocent animals. They depend on us for the lives and we need to make sure that this is never allowed to happen again.

Just as a reminder there are groups still in the gulf region trying to do what they can.

21. Thank you so much for posting. This makes my problems seem minor
Today was my last day at work...I was laid off. But it is nothing compared to what these poor doggies and kitties had to go through.

I know that I can fend for myself...these little guys can't

24. Thank you, Astonamous.
I actually see it as an opportunity. However, I will change the field I was working in. I worked at a non-profit alcohol and substance abuse treatment center. Too little funding, too many people in serious need of help. It was really stressful to have to turn so many people away, although it was encouraging to see many people making it and starting their live as productive member of society.

I just wish more people would care.
