3. Enough with 2008 distractions. Listen to Bill Clinton's winning advice:
Bill Clinton winningly advises to focus on one election at a time.

Republicans Out 2006!

7. Republicans plan at least four elections in advance
They're already attacking all the potential 2008 Dem nominees - - Rush Limbaugh spent his show last week attacking Al Gore.

Clinton is wrong about this. You need to focus on both the current cycle and the future cycle. The trick is to find the right balance.

8. Kucinich/McKinney. Both red state Democrats. One a southerner.
That should make both the DLC and we progressives happy.

9. Truth be told, I still think Dean has the best chance
The only reason his 2004 campaign shut down was because the DLC declared war on him. Not smart. Enjoying our hurricane season, Al From?

11. I really like Gore as a person, but...
For gosh sakes, were any of you people voting for him here around in 2000?

Gore ran a lousy campaign. Way worse than Kerry. Have you forgotten that before the term "swiftboated" was coined, we used to call it being "Gored"? There's a reason for that. Gore let the Repubs define him, never fought back, never went on the offense. I can see NO reason to think he'd do better in 2008.

Like I said, I like Gore. He'd be a good president, and I know the opportunity was stolen from him (but not without his help--everybody go watch F-9/11 again, ok?) IF Gore runs again... big "if" there... and if Clark doesn't, I'll give him a chance to prove he's learned the lessons of 2000. But he's got a lot of 'splainin' to do before I'll be convinced.

18. I sincerely believe
Clark would pick Kucinich for a running mate before he'd ask McCain.

Clark is a pragmatist, but he puts principles first. And he values other people who do as well. Even when he disagrees with them.
