Why the Bush Admin is at Its Most Dangerous
I'm saying this more from a psychological standpoint than political/strategic.

Bear with me, here. People who have seen this type of thing first hand in observing human nature will know exactly what I'm talking about.

Have you ever known someone who appears to have everything together and then one day, you happen to be around to witness when their mask slips? Depending on your reaction (ie, if you don't immediately appear sympathetic and willing to cover), you become that person's #1 enemy for the simple reason that you have the knowledge that contradicts the face they choose to present.

Two years ago, the Bush administration was making noises about going into Iraq. One year ago, they settled on the excuse of WMD.

Only the alternative press, at the time, was willing to debunk the WMD accusations in bold print. Even after the SOTU address, even after the invasion started.

When Joe Wilson exposed the lie, the admin went straight after his ass and endangered his wife and anyone who's ever worked under her.

The CIA, or at least certain elements of it, is now trying to expose yet another mask - this time, the criminal pettiness of the administration (which mainstream media again was all too willing to leave be). Expect Tenet to come under enormous fire. He'll need to have at least one more card up his sleeve, and a damn good one, if he really wants to finish off this administration. And they are not going to go down without a fight.

The CIA holds the patent on dirty tricks, and they are pissed. NEVER have I seen former and current CIA workers on TV like we have seen them the last 2 months. This public showing is a warning for the White House to stop trashing the CIA for no reason other than petty politics, but the WH either doesn't get the hint or it thinks it can be dirtier than the CIA. We shall see! Ought to be interesting!

3. I cannot imagine how he's going to get out of these two holes:
Iraq and the Wilson affair. Neither one seems to have a solution that will make Bush* look good. Perhaps they will capture Saddam before the election; that would help the repugs. Perhaps someone at the white house or in the vice president's office will take the fall for the leak. But these seem remote possibilities and not even very helpful for Bush. I really think we've got him cornered; and, you are right, when cornered animals are the most dangerous.
