Just to remind you folks about GOP Dirty Tricks in 2002 (IL) |

In my precinct the GOP hired stinky urine-drenched homeless people as their precinct workers.
They gave the GOP registrars think magic marker pens that leaked through your ballot. If we didn't have our new vote checking machines for the first time...I'm certain some of these votes could have warped and not read correctly.
Also, the biggest story that dropped from the radar in the 2002 Election:
The two GOP workers arrested who prepunched ballots so that they would register as overvotes! This was Bush's trick in 2000. It's possible to punch out the chad on three sides replace it and the voter won't know that when it goes through the machine the motion of the machine will cause the chad to rip and the vote is canceled.
They are clever, aren't they?

Not the best neighborhood. I had to hold my nose twice to vote..one for the candidates and one for the stink the homeless were giving off.

I know a guy who was a Republican judge in Chicago (Rogers Park). He tells me every election they fall far short of enough Republicans in Chicago willing to volunteer. In most cases, they end up slapping a sticker with the word "Republican" onto Democratic volunteers to make up the shortfall.
So I can certainly see where hiring some homeless guy for the day would be an improvement. Of course, they could get them setup with some clean clothes and a bath. But I suspect these are last second hirees and elections are hectic.

7. Agree. If I hadn't worked for a candidate I would have volunteered |

But I do believe they gave their workers pens that could warp the punchcard paper and distort the vote.
