Faces of Protest --- HEY FREEPS
Hey Freepers - do these people look like a bunch of inconsequential hippies and druggies to YOU?

This is just a handful, a sampling, of the patriotic Americans that are protesting Bush and his war. Young and old, black and white, we are a cross-section of America that represents every age, creed, and fiscal class. We ARE America.

WE ARE THE MAJORITY.

WE WILL NOT BE MARGINALIZED ANYMORE.

Add your own pics, DU'ers!

47. I was there yesterday, it was a very emotional day.
Several times yesterday tears streamed down my face. Most of the day was exhilerating, positive, and uplifting. I did, though, feel rage as we passed in front of the WH--OUR WH. It was lined with cops, barriors to keep us far from the fence, sharpshooters of the roof.

13. I LOST IT today.
There was this man in Los Angeles that was a Vietnam vet that was blind and he had his purple heart on .... I started crying when I saw him.

Also so many times I saw family members holding pictures of loved ones that died in Iraq. One was marching with the coffins.

Freepers are low life skum fucks.

25. Like I said ....
I lost it today when I saw that.

One thing that was so beautiful was when a group of people prior to the march in LA started singing "We Shall Overcome". We all joined hands and sang. It was wonderful.

It's amazing what a march like this can do to your spirit.

27. That's the way I felt...
at the Pro-Choice March, when a group of women next to me started singing "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" as we marched.

The next day I went to the Smithsonian, and walked up to the area where all the social change from the turn of the century exhibits were: Hull House, the muckrakers, etc.

When I came upon the exhibit with the suffragettes' wagon, their banners, and photos of Alice Paul, and the others, I turned into a blubbering fool in the middle of the museum.

Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 09:22 PM by mcg
he was at the DC rally, he might be emotionally scarred for life, I hope not. A freeper dared to call him a coward and he exclaimed "Oh, so I'm a coward because I saw innocent women and children slaughtered???"
No response from the freeper.

No sir, you are not a coward, you have morals.

great job on the poster. Wish I could of stayed through tomorrow for the civil disobedience protest. Maybe if there are arrest for it the MSM will have to carry it.

Or as my mom said, it was great that it was a peaceful march and in the long run does more for the message but had we rioted and the cops had to make lots of arrested it would of been the lead story on all the news.

I saw so many great signs that let me know that Christians are fed up with * and the lies about this war. My favorite was "Blessed Are the Peacemakers: If Bush is right then Jesus is wrong."

I also liked, "The Rapture is Not an Exit Strategy." That one cracked us up.

49. Guns N Roses Civil War, apt song I believe
What we've got here is failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach...
So, you get what we had here last week,
which is the way he wants it!
Well, he gets it!
N' I don't like it any more than you men." *

Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before

Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before

My hands are tied
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
For the love of God and our human rights
And all these things are swept aside
By bloody hands time can't deny
And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil wars

D'you wear a black armband
When they shot the man
Who said "Peace could last forever"
And in my first memories
They shot Kennedy
I went numb when I learned to see
So I never fell for Vietnam
We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all
That you can't trust freedom
When it's not in your hands
When everybody's fightin'
For their promised land

And
I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war

Look at the shoes your filling
Look at the blood we're spilling
Look at the world we're killing
The way we've always done before
Look in the doubt we've wallowed
Look at the leaders we've followed
Look at the lies we've swallowed
And I don't want to hear no more

My hands are tied
For all I've seen has changed my mind
But still the wars go on as the years go by
With no love of God or human rights
'Cause all these dreams are swept aside
By bloody hands of the hypnotized
Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars

"We practice selective annihilation of mayors
And government officials
For example to create a vacuum
Then we fill that vacuum
As popular war advances
Peace is closer" **

I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
And I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
I don't need one more war

I don't need one more war
Whaz so civil 'bout war anyway
