Bill O'Lie-ly quotes Cindy
On this video, Bill O'Liely says that Cindy Sheehan once said "America is a bad country."

I don't ever recall hearing her say anything like this. Is it just another boldface made-up lie?

If so couldn't he be sued for slander?

here's a link to the video:

http://movies.crooksandliars.com/Wesleygeneral.wmv

it's between the 7 and 8 minute mark where he quotes Sheehan.

side note, does it ever strike you strange, that all the time on these news and talk shows, the host brings up something in supposedly an "impromptu" conversation, and amazingly, the video crew has a precisely edited video to go along with exactly what he's saying? Doesn't that prove the entire thing is orchestrated?

1. Even if she had, let's put that into context.
In the context of what is happening today with America it is a bad country. It's probably a lie by falafel boy but really even if she said that there is so much wrong here today that I certainly can understand why she said that.

2. It is a recycling of an old smear
Cindy said that IRAQ "wasn't worth dying for" and the freepers and dittoheads and GOP apparatchiks said she was saying the US wasn't worth dying for.

O'Reilly knows in his heart(if he had one)that he was a fool to back Bush to the hilt on the war, so he has to keep demonizing everyone who demonstrates that implicitly or explicitly.

6. yeah, I'm just wondering if he really just fabricates quotations like that
or if she actually said it.

a couple replies on this tread seek to defend Cindy if she did in fact say it. that was not my intention of this thread... That's a whole 'nuther topic... I just was wondering if Orielly was actually such a bastard that he just makes up "direct quotes" like that.

If I were Cindy, and I had not said that, I would sue his ass. You can't go on TV and make up something and say someone said it when they didn't. If that's not slander I don't know what is.

7. yeah, but
it's one thing to lie. it's another thing to say someone said something when they didn't. Then you have another person involved.
