Does anyone think they spotted undercover agents in DC protests?
As some of you might know (I've posted about it a bit before), my sister is an intern with Homeland Security, and she pretty much coerced me into helping with a roleplaying simulation in Downtown once in where I discovered that there is a mulititude of undercover agents taking pictures, recording actions, and generally watching people.

Since then, I've been a little paranoid about covert surveillance, and I went to DC today and tried to keep my eyes peeled; I noticed some activity I thought might be related, but I can't say for sure.

I could see that the police presence was very little except those policemen guarding the hawks; I think there is very little chance of there not being a significant presense of undercover police.

Anyone notice anything worth mentioning?

2. During the Exercise in Atlanta...
They were posing as capitol interns, pedestrians, and that sort of thing mostly.

3. If anyone noticed, they're bad undercover agents

They should blend in seamlessly with the crowd. They could also look like press photographers or video crews. I saw one guy in black tie carrying a black derby at high noon at the intersection of 15th and Constitution Avenue--either he was very early for a night on the town or he had one wild Friday soiree but in any event not undercover.

My guess is that undercover agents were present and probably communicating with cell phones or walkie-talkies that looked like cell phones. They may have had signs and worn t-shirts with slogans and buttons, but nothing memorable enough for people to take note of. There were lots of National Park Police in cars and even a mounted contingent on Constitution Avenue, and I seem to recall some police on motorcycles around 10th and Constitution. There was likely a police copter overhead, along with a press copter. Nothing I didn't expect anyway, but I was only one person in one area.

EDITS: typos. It's been a long day. Signing off. Nighty-night to all!
