Montana Congressman Drunk on Vodka in Kazakhstan junket
http://www.motherjones.com/news/outfront/2005/09/diddly.html

Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-Mont.) had to rebut a Roll Call story alleging that during a Republican delegation trip to Kazakhstan he was drunk the whole time, downing as many as 20 vodka shots before riding a horse, then falling off the horse, then getting his ribs broken after being trampled by another horse, and later making fun of the local attire by prancing about in a Conehead skit making alien beeping noises. Rehberg insisted to Roll Call that he'd had only "three or four" shots.

2. Not surprised he fell off a horse. Doubt it would take liquor to do it.
Never have seen Denny in a hat with any sweat stains on it. All hat, no cowboy.

11. Billings area I believe. His family in a controversy re: land development
around the airport up above the Rims. Must be 40 something, married 25 years from bio page.

He is a doofus. His little blurbs in our electric coop newsletter shows the low regard he holds us all in! He is a patronizing boob and for the life of me, I can't see why he thinks he's so cool!

Ah, for the days of Pat Williams, with Pat Duffy campaigning for him and checking in for messages with my mom (Midnight Millie, as the East Helena cops dubbed her) on the grave-yard shift at the answering service in Helena.... ;) Mom got to tell Duffy to haul ass to the hospital when his wife was in labor in Missoula. Made her campaign season! She always enjoyed talking to Williams too; sometimes the guys had to wind down late when they got in but everyone else was alseep. They would chat a bit about the day, news, what was happening in Helena. Said he was very kind and intelligent, never condecending at all.

Did I say Rehberg was a doofus? What a sad little congress critter.

5. Kick for fun.
With Rehberg shooting vodka and Conrad Burns dealing with Jack Abramoff, MT looks fertile even in a drought year.

7. Does that mean you're a Morrison donor?
I rather dislike how parts of the blogosphere (mydd.com, swingstateproject) have come out in favor of Tester as the Dem candidate without really stating why he is preferable to Morrison (other than that Tester is friends with Pearl Jam).

What's your take?

8. I am a morrison supporter and donor
I spent some time with Morrison on the Schweitzer campaign last Oct, and recently had a chance to talk with him about some education funding issues. I met Tester in Billings on the eve of the the Nov. elections at the rally at the Railyard. I haven't talked to Tester much, but have become a Morrison fan from our conversations and my impressions.

9. Thanks for the input.
I knew Morrison and his dad (MT Supreme Court justice) when we were both in high school, but haven't seen him since, though I have tracked his career from afar. He always struck me as very smart and sincere. Tester is more of my homeboy (I went to HS in Havre), but I haven't really been persuaded that he is the guy, though I did hear good comments on his work in the state legislature.

I am looking forward to seeing how the race shakes out.

Certainly, Burns must go.
