What Makes You Sure That GW is Big Time Drinking Again?

I don't believe that he has ever been sober since birth but...

Was it the sweats, the casual way that he talks lately, more Potty Breaks?

6. Have you noticed the MSM doesn't play his photo ops after
the first mess up?

Once it happens- poof! We never see the entire video segment again, we only see the "good parts." ha ha

We saw Mission Accomplished over and over and over and over.

Remember the "Brownie, you did good" one?
I think he was drunk that day. Only see Poofs. Now you see him, now you don't - poof!

29. Yes they were

and they had the Bush girls on the floor in the bar if I'm not mistaken.

All of the Media must know he is a drunk.
They have been covering but how much longer before he "falls" down the steps of AF 1?

The pressure is increasing daily.

Before he thought the job was just fun and power.
Now he knows he can't handle it and he wants to take his war toys home and just play with Victor and his buddies.

36. I believe you're right. All we had was his word for it in the first place.
We all know how much THAT'S worth.

He needed a convenient barrier to put between the present and his druggie and alcoholic past, a barrier which would keep media people from feeling free to rummage around.

He said, basically, "That's in the past. I'm a Christian now. Gawd forgave me. Buzz off!"

So they dropped it in his 2000 campaign and it never came up again.
We heard more about Al Gore's son's getting a DUI than we heard about Bush's problem with alcohol.

13. Drinking is a given ...
the question is whether he is on Coke again, too ...

The man is a babbling idiot, always has been, but you can see the stress on him ... Maher showed a clip where he "took responsibility" for Kitrina ... They slowed it down just a tick, and it REALLY showed his body language ... I didn't like it when I saw it real time the first time, nothing about the guy is genuine, but even real time, you could tell he wasn't being genuine ...

Slowed down ... You could just see he was seething ... It literally hurt him to have to say he took responsibility ... He turned to the side, looked down, grimmaced ...

It is all of it with this guy ... Anyone who has been around even a little knows who this guy is, and the stress he is under now, there is NO doubt he is drinking at the very least ...

I saw the press conference at the pentagon two days ago where he was talking about "the war on terror" (is, justifying Iraq, setting up Iran) ... ANY time he goes off script it is painful to see ... But when he started taking questions, it just was pathetic, and that "coke jaw" thing was in full bloom ...

This guy is going to lose it ... NO WAY he makes it through this term without doing some REAL bizarre things ...

15. I agree
With how things are going now for him I wouldn't be surprised if things start showing even more by the end of this year. People are quickly turning on him and he loves attention. Just watch the republican convention from last year when he comes out. You can see it in his eyes how he craves it. So I betcha by the end of the year his raitings will be lower and things will be going bad for him. He may have a few bumps here and there but I think things are only going down hill from here on out. Even if there is another attack.

30. He was the ne'er do well who never succeeded at anything on his own.
Although born to wealth and privilege the guy's got not only a sense of entitlement but a huge chip on his shoulder.

Being Gov of Texas was a good gig for him, but really it was a figurehead position, not comparable to Governors of other states. The Presidency is the real deal and he is way out of his league. Plus his deterioration has been shockingly evident over the years if you see early tapes of him from years ago before the Presidency. Something's wrong with the guy, likely more than just the bottle or drugs IMO.

But anyway, it's not so much that he craves attention, it's the approval that he craves, that he's finally a "success." The big man. But everything he touches turns to shit and it's coming back on him in his second term.

He doesn't take criticism well. He hates it. Not that he gives a shit about JQ Public, but it can't help but irk him that he's not got all the approval he expects and requires. And now its more than that. He's the putative leader of the party and I bet a lot of the real movers and shakers and money guys are not happy. He's a front man and he's now a liability in many respects. The feet of clay are showing....he's still the same old fuck up.

34. The Pentagon press conference ...
When he started taking questions from the press ... He just had NO clue about anthing he was being asked, and started going off on endless babbling responses ...

Finally, he knew he was sinking, so he started trying to crack jokes ... THAT is all he knows, trying to use the swarmy charm ... He made about three stabs at some play on a question someone had asked early before the press corps finally gave him an obligatory chuckle, and you could see the relief in his face ...

As you said, that little approval fix ...

19. Excellent thoughts - you hit the nail on the head

about him not being fit to lead for the rest of his term.

There have been many other drunks in the WH but he is out of a brand new and dangerous bag.

Have you noticed that the body language of the other(except for Condi) is one of "keeping distance" from him? It's the way you look when the class clown is going to act up and the Principal enters the room. Everyone in the class tries to remove themselves from him with their eyes.

Lately, even the potted plants in the photo ops don't move. They don't even nod their heads in agreement anymore. They are afraid of him and know immediately that he is not wired correctly.

Now, if we could only get some of those potted plants to start talking!

his first NOLA photo-op, when he made the "joke" about having partied it up back in the day in NOLA, he looked back at (I don't remember who was behind him), gave an extremely "knowing" look...seemed to me at the moment he was making "visual" reference to a CURRENT issue, almost sheepishly (har har, and no offense to the sheep).

I agree he is Coking and Drinking.

Help me, can your jaw do that from drinking or just from Coke?

I've heard that many do both and he looks like he needs to call Whitney and bring her down to Camp Rehab in Crawford.

Maybe they could do a reality show from there!

14. I don't think he ever stopped either
I think it's all BS for the fundies who believe he is a Christian as Karl Rove has figured it out. If you haven't you should see the documentary "With God On Our Side" and "God In the White House." Rove uses the fundies for votes and Bush spews a little bit here and there. What I find interesting is when he was asked about how he became a Christian there are two different stories. One story is he claimed Billy Graham was the inspiration and in the documentary "With God on Our Side" they tell how there was this guy who would carry a cross around the country and came to some crusade thing (similiar to Billy Graham's but smaller) and Bush saw him and claimed he inspired him and met with him at some hotel and told about his drinking etc. If Bush really did believe in Christ's message he wouldn't be lying about war. He wouldn't have stolen the 2000 election and all the other stuff he's done. I also find it funny how nobody on the right has questioned about Cheney. In the documentary "With God On Our Side" one guy said he stopped supporting Bush because of Cheney's daughter. Don't the fundies ever wonder why Bush chose Cheney? He ran on a very conservative anti-gay/choice agenda but yet his VP has a gay daughter. Simple really. Money. And God states you can't worship both him and money. One or the other.

26. He cut to a few minutes a visit at a military hospital & the photo op was
cancelled, to the surprise of the photogs. Then, getting to AF 1 Bush appeared wobbly, seeming to need Laura's assistance/support going up the steps to AF 1. This apparently was on TV and there was speculation at the station covering it that perhaps he had taken ill, explaining his cancelled photo op and abrupt departure from SD. (Although if he was suddenly taken ill, a military hospital would have seemed the best place for him.) This was on Aug 30 in San Diego.

This info was in a Raw Story article about people being po'ed that the hospital cancelled their chemo cause the Pres was going to have a big photo op at the hospital and then did almost a virtual drive by.

My belief is he's had at least one stroke if not others. I'm thinking the "pretzel" incident was the result of a stroke.

All those little scrapes and booboos. Plus, the fact that his public speaking skills have degraded since he debated Anne Richards a million years ago...Things just don't add up with Dubya.

A person's speaking skills improve with practice but Dubya's gotten worse. That just doesn't make sense.

39. I have always been suspicious of his claimed sobriety...
As a clean & sober member of NA, I know that an addict (or alcoholic)
trying to stay clean on their own is usually doomed to failure. In fact, after 13 years clean I relapsed because I stopped going to recovery meetings and working with my sponsor. Now I am clean 5 years and I go to a NA meeting almost every day.

If the chimp has been staying clean on his own without going regularly to AA, NA, or CA meetings, I would give his chance of staying clean/sober 0%.

Even with all of his minders trying to keep up the pretense of his sobriety, eventually the truth will come out.

He goes to meetings at least twice a week, wherever he is, nothing will stop him from going.

Keep up the struggle!
