Why our rallies are bigger than theirs

Because very few really lust after war and violence. Most people, in 2003, believed the Government when it said that Iraq had WMDs and ties to Al-Quaeda and other extremist factions. So they supported the effort. Very few got hard-ons watching "shock and awe".

Better informed people realized that Iraq was a mistake and said so. Since then the opposition to the war has more than doubled, from around 30-35% of the population in 2003 to 65%-70% now.

Since opposition to the war outnumbers even the people who accepted the war as a nessecary evil, it FAR outnumbers those who glorify it and want it to continue indefinetly, no matter what the cost in blood and treasure.

That is why the protest rally brought in easily 250,000 people to DC (I was there. Anyone who tries to say there were less than 100,000 was not there or is lying. Downtown DC was packed solid with protestors. 100,000 is the absolute minimum. 250,000 is more likely. It was a virtual sea of people, by far the largest demonstration I have ever seen) The march was shoulder to shoulder the whole length and there were still tens of thousands camped out on the ellipse and other areas)


In contrast, Free Republic/Move America Forward Rally had about 250 at most
compared to a probable 250,000 at the other rally

3. They don't need to have rallies

When your people are the policymakers in power, and you are satisfied with what they are doing, there is little incentive to take to the streets.

They shoot their mouths off from behind their computers, but I'll bet a lot are afraid to show off their beliefs right now, or when they talk to their friends about protesting they get laughed at.
