Anyone ever get a democraticunderground.com that is digusting?

I got it a couple of times and it has disgusting things on it. I thought I was typing some thing wrong, but I am not. I am calling the police. It will not print!

Do you run a program like SpyBot Search & Destroy regularly? Does anyone else use your computer? Have you recently searched for song lyrics (believe it or not those sites can be the worst for installing malware)?

7. Of course I do have a hijack. That is why I view DU usually not logged in.

This only happens when I am logged into DU because I have to allow friggin cookies., which I do not routinely do. And the only way I can have a witness is to get the cops involved. The site is

Edited. Of course I have a hijack browser prob. I use spybot, adaware, AVG, spygate and zonealarm firewall. They are updated almost daily and run almost daily. My ISP is Comcast and the only reason to call the police is that I have checked the spelling 10 times and it is correct and this is like the 3rd or 4th time this has happened and print (from tool bar, and file doesn't work). The only time it happens is when I am on DU.

A trojan or virus, even.

Do some scans on your system.

In absence of that, are you accessing the site via a bookmark or typing it in? Could you be misspelling it? Many porn sites and nefarious sites take a popular website and buy a domain that is a misspelling of it.

not me. But I do remember reading about this a few months ago. I don't remember anything except there were a few (a lot?) of people saying that it had happened to them.

I always get here via the address in my toolbar, which is how I get to all the sites I frequent, so I don't have these types of problems. :shrug:

I use Firefox and there is an extension called spoofstick that helps to detect if a site has been spoofed. It prints out the name of the actual website you are visiting on one of the toolbars.

When I minimize DU and the mock DU site, the following happens.

The real DU is DemocraticUnderground.com and the mock DU is democraticunderground.com

I am going to call the police, this is a Federal offense and needs to be stopped. I hope they are reading and crap themselves, before someone, hopefully, serves a warrant.

May I suggest Spyware Blaster and Spyware Guard

Another thing, Do you run the Immunize function within Spybot?

28. Yes I have enabled Immunize with spybot and do not allow Java

scripts, period. This has only happened when I am on DU, I know it is not a DU problem, but someone is targeting DU.

32. No, why bother the admins. They have nothing to do with prosecuting

hackers, except possibly from a technical side. They do a great job here, and while I think they could help, they don't have the authority to prosecute. I am really tired and po'ed, and they can read the thread later. I think I need some documentation, right, now.

If I were you, I would PM him with any and all documentation of what you are experiencing. He would be the proper person to deal with all the proper authorities on this issue.

I have not experienced the issues you are discussing in this thread, so I have nothing to alert Skinner about. However, if I had, I would contact Skinner.

I agree, it needs to cease and desist. But as a mere member of DU, I am not in any position to be able to do anything about it, other than notify the admins.
