Rove gets raves
Rove gets raves
By Dave Roepke, The Forum
Published Sunday, September 25, 2005

President Bush’s chief political guru told North Dakota Republicans on Saturday the GOP has become the nation’s dominant party because of its foreign policy, domestic reforms and focus on traditional values.

“This happened because of ideas. This happened because of our philosophy,” said Karl Rove, the deputy chief of staff and the strategist credited with engineering the president’s 2000 and 2004 victories.

He suggested that one of the keys to recovery along the Gulf Coast will be cutting taxes, along with helping out victims with job training and temporary child care.

Cutting whose taxes? With an elective war costing us hundreds of billions and two hurricanes whose cost will at least match the cost of the war and they want to use that as an excuse to cut taxes? Without jobs the people are not going to be paying taxes.
Advocating cutting taxes with the insanely mounting debt shows an extreme disconnect from reality.

1. The GOP doesn't believe in cutting taxes

It believes in dumping them onto future generations who have no say in the matter.

Why does the GOP hate the unborn so much ?

10. The intent is government bankruptcy
"Drown it in the bathtub," said Norquist. The strategy is simply to increase the deficit until the interest drowns every single government program outside of defense. Then, we'll have no other choice because we won't be able to afford both. Everything will be privatized in the biggest remaking, class constricting, and Constitution shredding boondoggle in history. It is their great end game. They're not stupid, and they're not purposely reckless. They have goal. We've already seen a predecessor by the no-bid fat-catting of the New Orleans proposal that is now being linked to budget cuts for every program they hate. These people are pure ideologues with a utopian vision of rule, a dangerous mix, where the end justifies the means. The desires of the American people, the Constitution, world opinion, world stability are just as much collateral damage to them as are civilians that find themselves in the way of their war.

14. Actually we cannot even afford that much.
The discretionary budget is only around 800-900 billion and half of that is taken up by the military.

So we would need to cut literally everything and part of the pentagon's bloated budget to balance it.

4. Bushit.
They are the dominant party because American citizens were not prepared for a bunch of lying, cheating scoundrels who cloaked themselves in religion and patriotism. The American public was too trusting, apathetic and unprepared for Supreme Court Justices who paid back their cronies, rigged elections, fraud and harassment as a way of achieving political domination. Repukes dirty, illegal and immoral tricks work. Now we have to figure out a way to fight it.

9. You are so correct. People project their goodness onto monsters.
They just assume that the nefarious "wouldn't do that". And it takes shock after shock to wake to the reality - that some human looking things - have no feelings at all and certainly not the basket of feelings of guilt & love & compassion that you live with.

And Rove & co got found out. Now they spin and spin about how Bush is inadequate lately or lost focus. We saw behind the curtain. And we will not forget.

12. They have control of of everything EXCEPT about 60 % of
Americans. Until they have them totally under control, their theft of America is not secure.

5. Cut taxes more!
Let's get the national debt to $100 trillion! Then there will only be enough money to pay for defense and interest on the debt. Then only "We the Wealthy People" will benefit.

6. Why, our children will be paying for Rove's tax cuts, of course.

Prey on the weakest members of our society. No wonder they want to protect ALL the fetuses. They're future slaves for the Republicans.

11. everyone should have known what the repukes stand for in 2004
they have one last chance to make amends, 2006

If people believe that gay rights and prayer in public school, are more important than healthcare, jobs, and the slaughter of their young people in a war based on a lie, then it is over, not just for the democrats but for the country
