Katie Couric Jokes About Limbaugh’s Addiction to Pain Killers
http://www.mrc.org/cyberalerts/2003/cyb20031007.asp#6

Katie Couric joked about Rush Limbaugh’s reported addiction to pain killers. On Monday’s Tonight Show, the co-host of NBC’s Today offered this spiel:
“When I do the Today show out here I get up at 2am because out here you have to be up and ready to go at 4 because it’s 7 in the east. So I was getting a little tired, but I feel actually good because I flew out here and Rush Limbaugh sat next to me on the plane. He gave me some vitamins.” She then spun her head to flip her hair as she smiled and yelped: “Whaa! It feels good!”

8. What?
SHe was getting a laugh at his expense, why does that make her a bitch? I'm not sure at all what you meant about that. I suppose Franken is an asshole for doing the same in his book by that logic.

7. Limpnut has the sniffles.
I listen to the cyst at lunch, the callers are hilarious, today in the middle of some rambling he said 'excuse the sniffles'. Seems his nose was causing problems. Is this part of a progression in withdraw?
First running from Philly in paranoia, then denial of ANY knowledge about an investigation, Now nose problems...
Anyone know the next stages? nose collapses, tongue swells and cuts off airway, anal cyst bursts...

12. Yes. Absolutely . . .
. . . a runny nose and watering eyes are symptoms of narcotic (opiate) withdrawal. And it gets much worse. I'll google it and see what I can find.

18. This from two different websites . . .
Withdrawal (from all opiates) includes dilated pupils, diarrhea, runny nose, goose bumps, and abdominal pain.

These drugs can cause physical dependence, which means that the body reduces production of its own natural opioids (endorphins and enkephalins) and begins to rely on the drug to manage the functions of these natural brain chemicals.

When the drugs are stopped, the body needs time to begin providing neccessary amounts of the natural opioids again and withdrawal symptoms result. Withdrawal from opiates can occur whenever any chronic use is discontinued or reduced.

OxyContin withdrawal symptoms include but are not limited to:

perpetually being tired
hot/cold sweats
heart palpitations
joints and muscles in constant pain
vomiting
nausea
uncontrollable coughing
diarrhea
insomnia
watery eyes
excessive yawning
depression

16. Everyone's favorite personification of a pustulating anal cyst...
I had to go out and buy the Enquirer, so I could enjoy the whole thing, and see the e-mails.

According to that story, Rush went to some kind of painless, 24-hour, 'detoxify-while-you-sleep-c linic-for-rich-junkies'. The second visit almost killed him. He may have done the same thing, again, over the weekend, or maybe he's had to modify the regimen.

Either way, the cyst hasn't had the balls to even hint about the article, or his drug use.... This, from the man who said, "good riddance", when Kurt Cobain O.D.'d, and something very much like that, when River Phoenix checked out.

and have never seen or saw this gal named Katie. But if she scolded the motor mouth and the freeper's idol, good for her.

5. Katie was cracking up
the entire time Al Franken was sticking it to O'Reilly.. she could barely contain herself. Leno's a douchebag, but last night's show was good times.

10. Leno said he was an "independent" last night as he intro'd Franken's
book...said he read from "both sides" and said that "even if you aren't a liberal person" the book is good. I wonder if he intros conservatives that way (Even if you are a conservative.....")

Leno an "independent"????

He was OK with Franken....but he had to spoil the mood by announcing that the odious Dennis Miller will be on tonight (Tues) with his "political" insights...(Leno apparently treasures his "political insights.")
