Randi Rhodes actively seeking syndication deal and has representation.
Looks like one of my fave Lefty talk show hosts will be heard in more places than South Florida and the Internet soon. Here's a link to an article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

http://www.cleveland.com/living/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/living/1065519364190700.xml

Doing things first brought Nor man Wain a lot of success in a broadcasting career that started in 1949.

He broke records as a disc jockey and was host of an early TV dance show in Cleveland in the 1950s. He put "easy listening" adult music on FM with WDOK in the '60s and toppled the era's Top 40 giants by turning a little AM station into WIXY. He was first to syndicate Howard Stern beyond CBS stations when he owned WNCX in the '80s, and he started a kids network before Radio Disney bought up stations to corner the market.

(snip)

Specifically, he thinks America is ready for Randi Rhodes, a smoky-voiced Air Force veteran who's been a top-rated talk host in South Florida for more than 10 years.

"Her concept is to have an entertaining show first," Wain said. "She's funny, exciting, stimulating and constantly in your face. She knows her stuff. The only reason I'm doing this is I'm totally impressed with Randi Rhodes, and I think she's ready to break out."

(snip)

One story says that Limbaugh told Clear Channel he'd leave if it syndicated Rhodes, whose politics don't match those of the company's owners. But she compares herself to a character outside the family in "The Godfather."

Too bad she's not on the air today - but perhaps she's off signing some 1000 station contract ;)

(Well, a guy can dream :) )

5. Definitely..
People like to be on the 'winning' side.. the collapse of this administration is almost going to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. As the public opinion continues to sway, more and more people will view them negatively. Domino effects are so much fun

6. If there is a God Randi will get a nationwide show
Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 03:04 PM by rmpalmer
Be on Time, Newsweek, People Magazine covers. And I better be able to get the show in my area or on the net!

This is great news. Hope it happens. You folks at DU turned me on to her several months ago and she deserves a shot. She has more talent than Rush on his most drugged up day!

Hope she's off today cause she's doing the final work on this contract!

7. I've been listening to Randi for almost 10 years..
She is just an incredibly bright, articulate, and humorous woman. And she did a picture signing years ago next to Weird Al Yankovic :) Anyone who will sign at the same table with Weird Al gets an automatic pass from me. Go Randi!
