Essentially blood vessels with a weak spot that was ballooning and threatening to pop. The type of surgery that those of us without insurance might have to forego.

I read he was under local anaesthetic. They did not do surgery on any "supportive" tissue such as tendons, muscle or bone, but he does probabably have incisions that are dressed on the back of his legs under his clothing.

Every once in a while, the topic will turn to something reminiscent or a movie on tv will bring back those memories and he puts his hands together and his neck gets stiff.
