I've seen enough hurricane coverage
isn't there anything else happening in the country.........we have seen the areas of Texas and LA.its gone over and over for days now.......they keep patting themselves on the back for such a great job in Texas.fine and dandy....but there are NO do overs......LA still was and is a disaster........From what I see I don't think Texas was hit as hard as LA.

So they should get started.....bring the levees up and/or get 17 foot flood gates built....get the power and phone lines buried under ground..I have been trying to tell our part of FL about these lines...Some areas have underground power cable phone...they are not without power and such.except when a power station is hit.........Our area and others haven't done this yet........in non storm season they don't even trim the trees and dead limbs around their power lines.....now this may not prevent some power outages.but it couldn't hurt to try it......

2. Someone should point out to the media that
A) There is still a war going on in Iraq.
B) There is still a Plame investigation going on.
C) There are still possible crimes committed by Tom DeLay.
D) We are still in an energy crisis.

And that's just scratching the surface.

3. You and me both! And why yes, there was a mammoth
demonstration in DC yesterday. I contacted my sister in CA, and she says there's not a peep about it in CA, either in the paper or on TV. Does that mean it didn't happen? Sigh...

5. Your sister lives in an opaque bubble, then. . .
the DC demonstration was covered on at least two local Los Angeles late night newscasts, one national newscasts, and is a front page (below the fold) color photo in the Los Angeles Times and is covered on the front page of the San Francisco Gate online version. Those are just the sources I saw and read.

Certainly, there wasn't as much coverage as we would like, and I'm not certain what kind of coverage occurred during the event, but we do ourselves -- and whatever sympathetic/professional coverage we may receive -- a great disservice when we cavalierly dismiss or ignore the help we do receive.

4. If anything, go back to Katrina coverage
If Katrina hadn't happened, there wouldn't be such widespread coverage over this hurricane, it did damage, but the only deaths they are reporting right now iheard was just the bus accident in Dallas. The media got good feedback about their coverage, well maybe just CNN that NBC and FOX are jumping in on it and trying to pull in ratings. Its just exploitation over something tragic, and they do this cause they have no souls :). At least some of them covered the protests
