Mr. President: The Nameplate
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 05:21 PM by SeanOhio

I saw this photo in my newspaper this morning. If you look closely between the two phones, you'll see a nameplate that reads "MR. PRESIDENT."

Was this really necessary? I mean, who else could it be? Here's your taxpayer money being wasted!

23. al "i'm in charge now" haig forgot that after prez ray-gun got shot...
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 08:04 PM by DubyasWorld
he was only 5th in line of succession if ray-gun died, forgetting about the v.p., speaker of the house, senate president pro tempore of the senate, and THEN secretary of state, which was him.

once he figured that out, he figured he'd try to get the office legitimately by running in '88.

3. I don't see anything wrong with putting out $2 nameplates. Probably
one of the reasons was so that the participants would sit in the right places when they walked into the room.

4. Nameplates say a person's name
not their title. At least I've never seen a nameplate like that.

5. Usual dopeyness, he loves name tages and costumes
I know of someone who called him Mr. Bush once---a senior career gov official who had called Carter on through Clinton "Mr. ..." when directing them to a seat or something similar. He got his head handed to him for not saying Mr. President by "Mr. President" himself. That was in summer 2001 and the word went out quickly that an unvarying "Mr. President" is the only appropriate address---he didn't (at least up to 2003 when my uncle retired from the State Dept) particularly like "President Bush" but loved him his "Mr. President"

My life-long-Republican uncle who is as formal and conservative as they come now calls him: "Mr. Jackass" and claims he could make a fortune writing a "tell all"---by the way, he did say recently that despite his dislike for Clinton and his beliefs, "the man was always a gentleman from the highest to the lowest in any room"

26. I'll settle for a full conversation about it
but the "silence" speaks as well...but, I'm working on him. He does believe that "it will all come out sooner rather than later"

let us hope

30. if you ever get him to open up,
will you come here & share? Please, please, please. You could even change details to cover him. Like, if he calls him "Mr. Jackass" you could say he calls him "Mr. Dickheard".

I have several theories on what dumbya's psych problems are would like to hear some first hand accounts of his behavior.

best

6. The nameplate is supposed to imply his "regular" seat
Instead of just borrowing a chair, he's sitting in the Big Boy President Seat. Something like this:

"See, he's in charge. Not just a fly by, photo op, man getting in the way moment. He's got his own NAMEPLATE, dammit!"

That's my feeling on it.

12. The chair with the extra padding?
Or perhaps the one with the plastic on the floor around it for little "Mr. President" juice spills.

I have a feeling that there could be no end to this one.

13. Perhaps it's "his"
and he keeps in in his pocket and brings it out when he sits down.--takes it with him when he leaves.

Much more pathetic..

Even the Prime Minister just has one that says Mr. Blair
