Wouldn't it be great if DU could have Ads for some Local Businesses

who produce their own goods that we all could patronize for the upcoming holidays and for all those gifts we need throughout the year?

I wonder if some businesses could afford to advertise on Dem sites? Or, if the advertising buy might be affordable for the businesses as a "one time" try? Would anyone else be interested in hand made goods...and sites that would package them and mail them to our Friends/Family/Businesses?

The Holiday season is approaching where most small businesses reach that "make or break" point. Maybe we could start a List of businesses that DU'ers are familiar with, and can honor for their reliability?
I don't know what it costs to advertise on DU but maybe some businesses could band together and do a "Group Ad" with a simple description and a link and that would make it less costly than buying a big ad.

5. I know we have a Native American population that does produce hand

made gifts and soups and jewelry. We also have many artisans and folks who make their own MP-3's/CD and might gear towards "targeted music groups" (great collections of famous oldies or obscure jazz, Pop, Hip Hop, or even Disco and 50's Rock collections) plus folks who paint and are into "small publishing."

There's alot of talent here...but it need to be folks who are reliable and what they post is available and there aren't mix-ups...

That might be too expensive for some to be wrapping and shipping and doing photo's of their goods and guaranteeing that what is pictured is really what is delivered.

But, maybe with enough DU input those things good be verified? And, as I said, maybe buying a Group Ad?
