How to get election reform.

Even if you don't believe that the 2004 election was stolen, the very fact that so many are able to believe it means that reform is needed. For democracy to work, elections must be obviously fair.

The part that many here don't realize, is that Freepers want election reform too. They really are afraid of Democratic cheating. They believe that we have the graveyards voting, and we believe that they rig the count.

Use their fear to help us get the reforms that we want. There is, in principle, absolutely nothing wrong with verifying the ID of any voter. So we can agree to their desire for verified ID but we ask for something in return. We would want FREE voter ID, easy access to the ID sites, and a verifiable audit trail with spot checks. We would also want police at the voting sites to stop voter intimidation, campaigning, or other dirty tricks.

I think that we could get a lot of Freepers on board of that issue with that kind of compromise. It gives us both what we want - honest elections.

Please check out this link and pass it to anyone you know in Ohio who believes in election reform -- and sign the petition yourself! Regardless of who won Ohio in the last presidential election, we cannot allow any future elections to be run in such an incompetent and potentially corrupt manner again. This could happen in any state (and probably does). Let there never be any doubt as to who truly wins an election again. We have to get on this right away!
