Saw about 100 of you including the asshats from "Club Gitmo"
I shouted on down and let them know I thought they were fascists. I called them out hard on torture and destroying the protections that our soldiers need under the Geneva Conventions. I am disgusted by this wart and asshats like those that make light of the torture in our detention facilities sicken me.

4. That last pic with Cindy Sheehan is amazingly beautiful.

Of all the soldiers who died for a noble cause, it will be Casey, and the noble cause is Cindy Sheehan being able to mobilize the anti Iraq War movement.

If Casey died so that thousands of others will live, that is a noble cause in and of itself, and that is truly worth fighting for. We don't even have to kill anyone for our noble cause. All we have to do is remember what it means to be an American, to be a true patriot, and act accordingly.

It was a great day -- so empowering!

Did ya see in the WaPo and the NYT where they said some protestors were yelling "Shame on you! Shame on you!" at the pro-war zombies?

I was there and PuraVidaDreamin started that! Soon dozens of us were yelling at them. It felt great! I thought you were gonna get arrested, though. :evilgrin:

Lonestarnot, PuraVidaDreamin, Arnheim, Tsuki, Distressed Sister -- all are radical women and it was great fun to march and get our ya-ya's out together!

Anyhow, a great day and well worth the long trip. Damn. I HOPE we're not doing this again in six months.

I'll post a few pics tomorrow. I'm beat. It is a long trip home.

I also just missed Cindy speaking at the before the march ralley and the concert, but I had an awesome time.
It shows how big this thing was- I buzzed all over actually cut over and went back to see various parts of the march and different signs- was around all day-and on the move.
there are several signs and groups that I did not see at all.

28. I tried to catch this group while we were organizing to march ...

I'm not sure who they were. I watched part of what appeared to be a choreographed performance piece. People with the "bodies" made them move and dance in sync to music and drums (it was beautiful and transfixing) and then the music would develop and intensify ... culminating in cymbal crashes which would drop the "bodies" in a ripple effect - the "bodies" covering the people like death masks. I could have watched it for hours. I only wish I had a better view. The skeleton to the left in the photo brought up the rear of this group - and held 3 placards (for lack of a better word) DEMOCRAZY, FREEDOOM, and END.

You summarized it well. I understand they are a puppet troop. The big puppet with "end" "freedoom" "democrazy" rides a huge skeletal horse. It was held/manipulated by 6 or 7 folks.

Really great. Although, I will say that the exact message was obscure at best. Fantastic marching music to be sure.

I saw them in tighter ranks, about 4-5 across and closer together - changed the effect a bit ...
This was before march really got going.
I just realized that I saw your sister as I was walking toward the DU group and the staging area ... I remember because we exchanged smiles. I had just donned my "Stop Bitching Start a Revolutuon" shirt. There was a familiarity that I couldn't put my finger on at the time ... but it must have been from the Camp Casey pictures. Thanks again.
